Muriel F. Kerns

Muriel F. Kerns, 85, Newport, OH, passed away Friday, October 31, 2025 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born October 15, 1940 and was the daughter of the late William and Roanna Morrison Rutherford. Muriel was a graduate of Cairo High School. She was a homemaker and member of Newport Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, mamaw, great-grandma, and sister.

She is survived by one son, Brian (Jeanne) Kerns; two grandchildren, Wyatt Kerns, and Amanda (Jesse) Hadley; two great-grandchildren, Paisley and Marshall; four sisters, Karen (Gene) Jackson, Charlene (Bill) Ballard, Marion Martin, and Sharon (Larry) Little; two sisters-in-law, Loraine Martin, and Bonnie Kerns; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Emmet Kerns, son, Michael Kerns, and brothers-in-law, Dave Martin, and Larry Martin.

The funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 7, 2025 at Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, WV. Burial will follow in Cairo IOOF Cemetery, Cairo, WV. Friends may call from 5 to 8 P.M. Thursday and from 1 to 2 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the funeral home. An online guest register is available at www.ingramfh.com.
