Clarence Smith

Clarence Smith, 62, of St Marys, WV, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at his home. He was born on August 23, 1963 in Parkersburg, WV, along with his twin brother Clifford Smith.

He was a graduate of St Marys High School in 1981. Shortly after graduation, he started Arvilla Well Service with his brother Clifford. He then went on to start Arvilla Pipeline Construction in 1995 with Rebecca Smith. He always had a new project on the horizon. His latest adventure was with Protokinetics, a molecular biotechnology company.

When not involved with his latest endeavor, you could find him spending time out on the family farm or busy finely manicuring his lawn. He would also frequent Florida to spend time with his grandchildren, who were the pride and joy of his life. He always enjoyed the company of his friends when they would stop in to visit. He always had a story to tell or would jump on the opportunity to dish out some friendly banter.

In addition to his parents John and Edith Smith, he is survived by his daughter Alexandra Smith-Sarmiento (husband Camilo), granddaughters Maia Rose and Talia Grace, bonus daughter Samantha Scadden, and his twin brother Clifford Smith (Tammy).

Clarence was preceded in death by his sister Brenda Udell, his paternal grandparents Carl and Edna Smith, and maternal grandparents Rudolph and Marie Ullrich.
