Clara Josephine Hoselton DeLong
Clara Josephine Hoselton DeLong, born April 12, 1931, after 94 years left this world on October 30, 2025, at 8:05 a.m. With her daughter, Shirley Diane DeLong Smith, sons David Clay and wife Anitia DeLong, Albert Dean and wife Jeannie DeLong at her bedside, peacefully from the home she and Dad built.
Reunited with family that preceded her in death: parents, Enoch Oscar Hoselton Mary Bigley Hoselton; brother, Richard and Betty Hoselton, sisters, Betty and Henry Milhoan, Kathrine and Hayward Burrows, Evelyn and Lando Cottrell, Martha and Wayne Staats, Mom’s husband of 64 years, Eldon Clay DeLong; their first-born, Deloris Imagene “Dee” DeLong Burgess; great granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Smith; and many more in- laws, family and friends.
Mom was a homemaker, a FarmHer, Member of Coleman Chapel Church, lifelong supporter of the 4 H and FFA. Our families rock during hardships and heartbreak, kept our focus on what the Bible teaches, feed everyone with amazing meals created in record time even when she had been on the farm all day alongside us. She loved all babies 2 and 4 legged (but not snakes). She loved to fish as well.
Her memory carries on in the lives of her family, her children; sons in law, Jerry Burgess, Jim Smith; her seven grandsons, Robert and Sarah Burgess, Joe and Mary Smith, Josh and Myra Smith, Justin and Lindsay Smith, Garrett Cody and Gage DeLong; seven great granddaughters, Samantha and Bridget Burgess, Addi, Riley, Ella, Kennedy, and Peyton Smith; great grandsons, Kyle and Beka, Quinton and Tiffany, and Gavin.
Thank you to Hospice caregivers, Laurie, Sam, Britini.
A Special thank you to Abra Anderson, Debbie Stephens, and Dawn Stewart who came into our home to care for Mom but stayed in our heart for all the wonderful kindness, compassion and love they gave her, the smiles they brought her made her feel involved and special when her health did not allow her to do as much as she wanted. We can never repay the kindness you have shown.
It’s okay to mourn and feel sorrow, just know that Mom is Listening to and walking with our Lord and savior in that Heavenly Garden and she wants nothing more than to see all of us there one day as well. God Bless all who read these words.
