Bowman Watson

Bowman Clell Watson, 93, of Parkersburg, West Virginia, passed away on October 16, 2025. He was born on July 25, 1932, in Parkersburg, WV, the son of the late John Lynsey and Osha Simmons Watson.

He graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1951, where he was on the football and wrestling teams. Bo was proud to be part of the 1950 Big Red Football State Championship team.

Upon graduation, he attended WVU and played football for the Mountaineers. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was a proud veteran. After his military discharge, he joined Ironworkers’ Local 787 and worked for more than 35 years.

He is survived by his wife, Vonda Fay Oney Watson; 1 son, Bowman (Kim) Watson, 3 daughters, Charlotte Anderson, Sheila (Tim) Foster and Brenda Griffin of Las Vegas, NV; 5 grandchildren, Kaitlin (Codi) Douglas, Shyla (Harlan) Watson, Cabella Watson, Matt, and Vanessa Foster; 2 great grandchildren Ivan and Madalyn.

He is also survived by one sister-in-law, Pauline Oney Rempel, and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Grover, Don, Raymond, Robert, and James; and 3 sisters, Mildred, Orbie, and Mary.

Bo enjoyed traveling, woodworking, sports (especially the Mountaineers), and spending time with his family and friends after his retirement.

At the family’s request, there will be no services. His remains will be entrusted to the Mid-Ohio Valley Cremation Society.
