Robert “Bob” L. Powell

Robert “Bob” L. Powell, 59, of Little Hocking, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 6, 2025, after a battle with cancer.

Bob was born February 23, 1966 to Kenneth and Charlotte Powell. He was a 1984 graduate of Warren High. He was a loving husband and devoted father.

Bob owned his own business for over 30 years as an excavation contractor. He was very meticulous and passionate about his work. Prior to that he was employed by AB Chance of Parkersburg.

Bob took pride in his Oliver tractor collection and enjoyed sharing that hobby with his son Nick. He took every opportunity to teach Nick something about heavy equipment. He also enjoyed teaching his daughter Bobbi how to ride dirt bikes and succeeded in enduro-cross.

Bob is survived by his parents; his loving wife Cathy; son Nick; daughter Bobbi; granddaughter Stella; brother Rick (Renee) Powell; nieces Molly (Austin) and Haley; nephew Jake (Jessie); his lifelong friend, Randy Fisher and several other family members and close friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

The family would like to give a special thanks to his family nurse practitioner Stephanie Thompson, to Dr. Hussain and his staff and to the James Center.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 9, 2025, 11:00 am at the Porterfield Baptist Church, with Pastor Eric Leeson officiating. Burial will follow at Rockland Cemetery, Belpre.
