Edna Irene Barker

Edna Irene Barker, 83, of Waverly, WV, passed away on Sept. 18, 2025, at the Willows surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on Nov. 11, 1941, to the late John Alden and Bertha Mae (Lamp) Husk in Marietta, Ohio.

Edna attended Middle Ridge Baptist Church and Pleasant View Baptist Church. She loved attending church, spending time with her family and being a wonderful housewife. Edna loved baking pies for her family, especially pumpkin pies. She loved playing softball in her younger years and clogging.

Edna leaves behind a great legacy, with a family that will miss her dearly. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Linda S. “Susie” Hunt (Harley) of Waverly, Mary Irene Todd (Michael West) of Walker, Teresa Lynn McElfresh (Gene) of Walker, grandchildren, Shawnda Whitlatch (Joe), Susanne Matthey (Teddy), Steven McElfresh, Serena McElfresh (Allyse), Anna McElfresh, Miles “Bubby” Berry (Savvy), Amanda Linger (Travis), 11 great grandchildren, and one sister, Norma Winigman of Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her late husbands, Ira Dale Barker, Joe Neff, and ex-husband, Russell D. Todd, her brothers, Cecil, Alden, Robert “Ike”, Oliver, Bud Husk, her sisters, Linda Meier, Janet Husk, Leota Husk.

Services will be held at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2025, at 1 p.m. with Pastors Chris Waldron and Mark Dowler officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, Sept. 22, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory gardens.

The family would like to thank the Willows for the wonderful care Edna received while she was in their care.
