Shaun Joseph Wildt

June 15, 1964-August 7, 2025

Shaun Joseph Wildt, 61, of Sammamish, WA, passed away on Aug. 7, 2025, in Orange Beach, AL, while vacationing with his father and brother Matt.

Born on June 15, 1964, in Huntington, WV, Shaun lived an adventurous life marked by deep faith, generosity, and a magnetic personality that drew people to him. A gifted storyteller and natural entrepreneur, Shaun had a rare charisma that made every room brighter and every conversation memorable. Shaun’s Catholic faith guided every part of his life. He gave freely, never hesitating to help a loved one, friend, stranger, or community cause.

A true adventurer at heart, Shaun loved to travel. While studying abroad in college, he explored much of Europe, setting the tone for a lifetime of exploration. During their marriage, Shaun, Amy, and their three daughters traveled extensively throughout the world and the US.

Shaun’s love for basketball began early – his father, Richard (Dick) Wildt, was a high school basketball coach, and Shaun grew up loving the game. He played varsity basketball at Parkersburg Catholic High School where he was an All-State player and continued his basketball career at Heidelberg College in Tiffin, OH. He continued to play competitively in leagues in New York City and London. An excellent golfer as well, Shaun frequently enjoyed playing with his dad and brothers. He also enjoyed flyfishing in the icy rivers of Utah.

He began his career in New York City where he traded cotton on the floor of the commodities market. After moving to London with his wife Amy, he transitioned into the role of fuel oil broker, launching both a career and a family abroad. Upon returning to the United States, Shaun’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to found two successful commodities trading companies: LCM and Cornerstone Global Commodities. Later in life, eager for a new challenge, Shaun earned his Executive Master of Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma and took on the role of Managing Director of Renewables and Feedstocks at Snapper Creek Energy, a position that reflected both his forward-thinking mindset and his commitment to sustainable innovation.

He is survived by his loving wife, Amy, and their cherished daughters, Madeleine, Sofia, and Clara, all of Sammamish, WA; his father, Richard (Dick) Wildt of Parkersburg, WV; his brother Thomas Wildt, sister-in-law Sarah Wildt, nephew Owen Wildt, and niece Presley Wildt, all of Greeley, CO; his brother Matthew Wildt and niece Paige Wildt of Birmingham, AL; and his brother-in-law Erik Nyce, sister-in-law Megan Nyce, and niece Hazel of Denver, CO. He is preceded in death by his mother Jo Ann Wildt, his nephew Cameron Wildt and his mother-in-law Nancy Nyce.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2025, at Leavitt Funeral Home, 403 Seventh Avenue, Parkersburg, WV. Funeral Mass will be Friday 11 a.m. on Aug. 22nd, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 2500 Dudley Avenue, Parkersburg, WV with Father David Huffman as celebrant. A reception and lunch will follow at the church.
