Roger Hildreth

Roger Dale Hildreth, 69, of Mineral Wells, WV, passed away Aug. 19, 2024, at his residence.

He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, Dec. 5, 1954, a son of the late Bernard Hildreth and Ruby (Cutlip) McKenzie.

Besides his family, Roger loved being a soldier more than anything. He dedicated 35 years of his life to serving this great country we live in. His first deployment was to Vietnam, with an additional five (5) overseas deployments throughout his service.

Roger was Christian by faith, an Army Veteran, and heavy equipment mechanic for the Department of Defense.

He enjoyed auctions, flea markets, and antique stores.

Roger is survived by his wife of 19 years, Leta Hildreth of Mineral Wells, WV, two children, Sandra Lee Morgan of Charleston, WV and Isacc Isiah Hildreth of Albany, Ohio, five siblings, William “Ray” Hildreth of Morgantown, WV, Darlene “Sue” Benoite of Morgantown, WV, Dorothy “Punky” Oakford of Wimberley, TX, Carol “Sissy” Lynch of Newark, Ohio, and Glenda “Jean” McKenzie of Quincy, MI, two step-daughters, Rachel King of Mineral Wells, WV and Amy Cass of Parkersburg, WV, five grandchildren, Jacob “Jake”, Alexander “Alex”, Sierra, Maverick, and Ariel, several nieces and nephews, and his very loved fur babies, Sweetie Pie and Tigger.

Service will be 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, 2024, at the Leavitt Funeral Home Parkersburg with Scott Morehead officiating. Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
