Paul McDaniel

Paul McDaniel, 89, of Parkersburg, WV, passed away Aug. 17, 2024, at the Wyngate Senior Living Community. He was born June 30, 1935, in Grafton, WV to the late Paul and Phyllis Withers McDaniel.

Paul was retired from GE Plastics and was a loyal member of the 36th St. Church of Christ. An avid sports fan, he also loved turkey hunting, traveling (having visited all 50 states), and especially cherished spending time with his family. A true people person, Paul could strike up a conversation with anyone. He seldom missed attending the monthly McFriends breakfasts.

He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Reba Weese McDaniel; two daughters, Ronda Harper (Jeff) of Vienna, WV and Cathy Spurgeon (Steve) of Gahanna, Ohio; four grandchildren, Megan DeLancey, Garrett Harper, Kyle Spurgeon, and Erin Bumbalough; three great-grandchildren, Amelia, Evie, and Emryn; two brothers, Gene McDaniel of Pennsylvania and Gary McDaniel of Alabama.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his youngest brother, Lynn McDaniel of Alabama.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Aug. 20, 10:30 a.m. until time of service. Funeral service will take place at 1 p.m., Tuesday, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home in Vienna, West Virginia with Jeff Harper and Terry Garner officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
