James Bernard Robrecht

James Bernard Robrecht, 78, of Parkersburg, passed away at home on August 24, 2024. He was born November 19, 1945 in Parkersburg, WV.

He was a veteran of the US Air Force and achieved the rank of Airman First Class. He married Ruth Tallman on April 15, 1977. He was owner/CEO of Robrecht Produce Company for 30 years. He excelled at several sports including baseball, golf, bowling and football. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints where he served in several leadership roles. He was known for his many acts of compassionate service.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ruth (Tallman) Robrecht; five children Brian (Mindy) McKibben of Lehi, Utah, Stefanie (Donald) McKibben-Smith of Lewis Center, OH, Sheila (Kevin) Calder of Loveland, CO, Nancy (Andrew) Tice of Lyman, SC, and Molly Robrecht of Parkersburg, WV; twenty grandchildren Sarah (Vyom) Mehta, Heather (Nathan) Turnbow, Nicholas (Emily) McKibben, Anna (David) Bell, Benjamin Smith, Todd (Kelsey) Smith, Myra (Samuel) Sly, Derek (Jordyn) Calder, Riley Calder, Elizabeth Calder, Aurora Tice, Jesse Tice, Regan Tice, Heath Ryen, Abby Ryen, Emma Ryen, Ada Ryen, Luke Ryen and Owen Ryen, and Emilia Shrader; ten great grandchildren Ellora Mehta, Asher Turnbow, Phoebe Turnbow, Peter Turnbow, Alexander Turnbow, Isabella McKibben, Samuel Bell, Rosemary Bell, Allison Bell, Lyla Calder; and two brothers John George Robrecht, Jr and Joseph Robrecht, both of Pensacola, FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John George and Jeannette (Yocke) Robrecht, sister Jeanne Marie (Robrecht) Lawyer, daughter Marsha (Robrecht) Ryen, brother-in-law Charles Tallman, sister-in-law Mary (Tallman) Starcher and husband Bud Starcher.

Services will be Saturday 1:00 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church. Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg is assisting the family with arrangements.
