Delno P. Hayhurst

Delno P. Hayhurst, 86, of Pennsboro, WV (Hushers Run Community) departed this life on Friday, Aug. 9, 2024, at Pine View Continuous Care in Harrisville, WV.

Delno was born Oct. 9, 1937, in Pennsboro, WV a son of the late Warren S. and Thelma G. (Satterfield) Hayhurst. He was a graduate of Pennsboro High School with the class of 1955. For 40 years, Delno worked for United Steel Workers Local #5668 of Ravenswood, WV, as a millwright. He was United Methodist by faith and was a member of the Parkersburg Moose Lodge. Delno loved trout fishing, hunting, sports, and was an avid fan of WVU.

He is survived by his son, Michael Hayhurst and wife Sherry of Pennsboro, WV (Hushers Run Community); grandchildren, Jason Hayhurst, Amanda Hayhurst, Daniel Rijos, and Micah Moxley; great grandchildren, Joliana Hayhurst, Levi Perkins, and Melvin Rijos; brother, Ronald Hayhurst of St. Marys, WV, dear friends, Mike and Rick Morgan and Joe and Terry Crislip, along with his loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Moxley and his sisters, Shirley Tingler and Sondra Hayhurst.

In accordance with Delno’s wishes he will be cremated. McCullough Funeral Home in Pennsboro, WV is assisting his family with the arrangements.
