Small Bites for Great Futures fundraiser to benefit Boys and Girls Club of Parkersburg

PARKERSBURG — A local financial adviser is partnering with the Boys and Girls Club of Parkersburg to host a fundraising and networking event July 30. Small Bites for Great Futures will be 6 to 8 p.m. at the Parkersburg Art Center on Market Street. Proceeds will benefit the Boys and Girls Club and its programs for area children and families. Judge reviewing motions for possible new trial in Cupp case

PARKERSBURG – A Wood County Circuit Court judge is reviewing a motion for a new trial in a case where a woman was originally found guilty of second-degree murder, but a juror was believed to have personal connections to people involved in the case after the verdict was rendered. Judge Robert Waters is reviewing the motion as well as the state’s response in the case of Barbara Cupp. A representative of his office said Tuesday the judge has not made a ruling yet and the matter had not been set for a hearing.
