MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports Sept. 26:
* On Sept. 25, deputies responded to a domestic dispute at 427 Barnett Ridge Road, Belpre. During an argument over their marriage, the husband of Dina Wilson, 43, inadvertently struck her in the arm with an envelope. The deputies determined the incident was only verbal and that neither party made any threats. As a result, this case was closed as unfounded.
* On Sept. 25, Todd Rice, 43, 25 Everson Road, Belpre, reported earlier in the day his Vega brand motorcycle helmet was stolen from near the entrance of the Barlow Fairgrounds at 8595 Ohio 339, Vincent. The helmet’s value is approximately $100.
* Lynsey Brooke Erb, 27, 714 Pioneer Community Road, St. Marys, was arrested on a felony charge of possession of drugs and misdemeanor charges of possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and contempt of a court order at the Washington County Courthouse and placed in the Washington County Jail on Sept. 25 at 9:52 a.m.
* Dennis Eugene Herndon III, 28, 970 Dixon Ridge Road, Lowell, was arrested on misdmeanor charges of telephone harassment and two counts of contempt of a court order in Marietta by the Marietta City Police Department and placed in the Washington County Jail on Sept. 25 at 11:08 a.m.
* Jacob Lane Carpenter, 20, 360 Mechanic St., Macksburg, was arrested on misdemeanor charges of underage consumption of alcohol and violating the terms of his probation at his residence and placed in the Washington County Jail on Sept. 25 at 11:53 p.m.
* John Nicholas Wooten, 23, 121 Putnam St., Marietta, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence at his residence by the Marietta City Police Department and placed in the Washington County Jail on Sept. 26 at 12:45 a.m.

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports and charges on Sept. 23:
* On Sept. 19, Eric Muir, 42, 15460 State Route 60, Lowell, was seated behind the wheel of his Dodge pickup truck when the vehicle reportedly lost its brakes and coasted down the driveway. The front of the truck crashed into a storm drain at the bottom of the hill, which caused the bed of the truck to fly up and hit the driver’s side of an unoccupied Ford truck parked next door. Muir and his passenger were transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment to minor injuries. At the hospital, Muir admitted consuming alcohol earlier in the evening and refused a BAC test. Deputy Sheriff McKee issued him a citation for OVI.
* On Sept. 20, Corrections Officer Schwendeman charged Washington County Jail inmate Christopher Hackathorn, 28, 3782 Rock Run Road, St. Marys, with theft. Hackathorn used another inmate’s phone card without permission to place two calls to a relative.
* On Sept. 21, Noelle Martin, 28, 14960 State Route 550, Fleming, reported her husband, Andrew, 29, punched her in the face. When Martin arrived home from work he became angry with his wife because she did not have dinner ready for him. During his tirade, Martin pinned his wife to their bed, grabbed her hair and struck her on the left side of her head. Determining Mrs. Martin was in fear for her safety, Deputy Sheriff Carr arrested Mr. Martin for domestic violence and transported him to the Washington County Jail.
* On Sept. 21, Sgt. Mankins arrested Braden S. Hewitt, 19, 75 Patten Mills Road, Cutler, for underage consumption of alcohol. Stopped for a traffic violation on State Route 60 in Lowell, Hewitt gave Mankins permission to search his vehicle. Inside the vehicle, Mankins found a backpack containing 13 cans of beer. Hewitt and his 16-year-old passenger admitted consuming beer earlier in the evening.
* On Sept. 21, the owner of the Lowell Laundromat, 191 Main St., Lowell, reported for the second time in two weeks that unknown suspects entered the business. The suspects pried open the bill changer and removed approximately $120 in quarters and $227 in bills.
* On Sept. 22, Estell Gallagher, 86, 417 Goss Fork Road, Whipple, reported her grandson took the key for her camper and he has ignored her repeated requests to return it. Deputy Sheriff Call spoke to the suspect and he said he would return the key to his grandmother.
* On Sept. 22, Fancie Smith, 36, 405 Second St., New Matamoras, was airlifted to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown for treatment to injuries suffered in a short fall. Smith lost consciousness when she fell from standing on the seat of a lawn chair. Smith was not responsive when Deputy Sheriff Call arrived at the scene and she was experiencing seizures. Medical personnel later said Smith was recovering and did not suffer any injuries. The seizures were determined to have been caused by a buildup of air around her lungs as a result of the fall. Smith was to remain in hospital overnight for observation.
* On Sept. 22, a 16-year-old New Matamoras resident reported he was seated on his bicycle near his apartment when an acquaintance approached him and pulled the bike out from underneath him. The acquaintance then rode the bike out of the apartment complex and did not return.
* On Sept. 22, Norman Wynn, 82, 2515 Bender Road, Marietta, reported sometime overnight an unknown suspect(s) entered his home and stole his wallet, $60 in cash and change and a spotting scope. The suspect(s) subsequently attempted to use Wynn’s credit card to make purchases totaling nearly $900 in Parkersburg.
* On Sept. 22, a clerk at Byer’s Exxon, 26960 State Route 7, Marietta, reported a customer attempting to use the drive thru struck the side of the building with his truck. When he noticed the driver appeared intoxicated, the clerk refused to sell him beer and he drove away. The driver, Brant E. Ward, 24, 27315 State Route 7 Apt. 14, Marietta, denied striking the building but Sgt. Anderson observed paint transfer and large scratches on Ward’s truck. Anderson requested a summons for Ward for hit-skip and reckless operation.

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports and charges on Sept. 19.
* On Sept. 18, the Beverly-Waterford Emergency Squad transported Chad B. Bledsoe, 29, 14735 Waterford Road, Waterford, to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment to injuries he suffered in a motorcycle wreck. Bledsoe was riding the motorcycle on his property when he lost control and landed on his right shoulder. Medical personnel said it appears Bledsoe has a broken collarbone. He has no life threatening injuries, officials said.
* On Sept. 18, a resident on Alden Avenue in Marietta reported she found what she described as disturbing letters in her yard. The typed and handwritten letters mentioned multiple murders and contained addresses in Columbus and Washington, D.C. Deputy Sheriff Reeder forwarded the letters to Homeland Security for additional investigation.
* On Sept. 19, a clerk at B&J Carryout, 38710 Ohio 7, Newport, reported a man who appeared to be intoxicated was attempting to enter his vehicle and drive from the parking lot. The Ohio State Highway Patrol also responded to the scene and took the suspect, Ronald A. Holland, 58, 43405 Gallagher Road, Beallsville, into custody. A trooper observed Holland driving his vehicle a short time earlier and after he performed poorly on sobriety tests, informed him he would be charged with OVI. Witnesses noticed Holland was so intoxicated he could barely stand or walk. Questioned by Deputy Sheriff White, Holland denied consuming any alcohol. However, White noticed Holland had a strong odor of alcohol and slurred his speech. White observed a cooler in the bed of Holland’s truck contained six empty beer cans. White arrested Holland for disorderly conduct by intoxication and transported him to the Washington County Jail. At the jail, Holland tested .208 BAC.
The following suspects were processed into the Washington County Jail Thursday and Friday:
* Jacob Allan Allman, 21, 502 Barclay St., Belpre, for theft, a misdemeanor. Allman was arrested in Belpre by Patrolman Stump of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail.
* Ronald Allen Holland, 58, 43405 Gallagher Road, Beallsville, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Holland was arrested in Newport by Deputy Sheriff White and processed into the Washington County Jail.

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports and charges on Sept. 18.
* On Sept. 16, Sgt. Mankins issued a citation to Justin R. Stanley, 23, 8970 Ohio 329, Glouster, for traveling 75 mph in a 60 mph zone on Ohio 7 near Blue Knob Road in Warren Township.
* On Sept. 16, Sgt. Mankins issued a citation to Robert W. Halley, 66, 614 30th St., Parkersburg, for failure to obey a traffic control device after he turned right on red from Farson Street onto Ohio 7 despite the intersection being posted as no right on red.
* On Sept. 16, Sgt. Mankins issued a citation to James R. Currey III, 31, 2820 Newbury Road, Little Hocking, for traveling 33 mph in a 20 mph school zone on Ohio 124 near Little Hocking School in Belpre Township.
* On Sept. 17, Riannon L. Croston, 23, 95 Sandhill Road, Marietta, reported she and her live-in boyfriend were involved in an argument over money. No threats or physical contact took place during the incident. As a result, Deputy Sheriff McKee closed this case as unfounded.
* On Sept. 17, the manager of Reno Mini Mart, 26960 Ohio 7, Marietta, reported between 3:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. Sept. 15 the driver of an unknown vehicle struck the door of a storage unit at that location. The cost to replace the door is approximately $1,000.
The following suspects were processed into the Washington County Jail Wednesday and Thursday:
* Angie Selene Riley, 49, 188 Main St., Lowell, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Riley was picked up in Athens by Deputy Sheriff Gerber and processed into the Washington County Jail.
* Shannon Nichole Bensie, 29, 2269 W. 73rd St., Cleveland, for obstructing official business, a misdemeanor. Bensie was arrested at Marietta Memorial Hospital by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail.
* Jeffrey Roger Gartrell, 41, 201 Jennison St., Beverly, for contempt of a court order, a misdemeanor. Gartrell was arrested at the courthouse and processed into the Washington County Jail.

MARIETTA – Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports and charges on Sept. 16.
* On Sept. 12, Martha Farson, 87, 103 Iroquois Drive, Marietta, reported she received a phone call Monday from an individual with a foreign accent who stated he was in trouble out of the country and he needed money immediately to return home. Believing the caller was her grandson, Farson obtained $500 in MoneyPak cards and provided the card numbers to the caller. When Farson attempted to obtain additional funds from the bank to send to the caller, a teller informed her she was likely the victim of a scam. This case remains under investigation.
* On Sept. 12, the Reno Volunteer Fire Department transported Phyllis E. Enderle, 72, 10 Blossom Lane, The Plains, to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment to injuries she suffered when she was ejected from her golf cart. Enderle was driving her golf cart near an embankment at the Landings Campground when she possibly hit the wrong pedal and careened over the embankment. Ejected from the cart, Enderle landed on and rolled over several large rocks. She suffered a large laceration to her left leg, a possible broken left wrist and forearm and additional lacerations to her face, ear and hands. None of Enderle’s injuries are considered life threatening. The cause of the crash appears to be accidental.
* On Sept. 14, Deanna Kuhn, 60, 29870 State Route 7, Marietta, reported her mother, Ernestine Frye, 77, same address, was breaking windows and physically assaulted her. Kuhn said she lives in a garage apartment on her mother’s property and that she continuously argued with her mother for the past day. Kuhn stated her mother arrived home from work in an agitated state, threw a brick through a window and released Kuhn’s dogs from their cages. During an altercation that followed, Frye pulled her daughter’s hair and struck her in the face, knocking her glasses to the ground. Based on his investigation, Deputy Sheriff Huffer arrested Frye for domestic violence and transported her to the Washington County Jail.
* On Sept. 14, Deputy Sheriff McPeek arrested Charles K. Bailey, 26, 3830 Patten Mills Road, Stockport, for felonious assault. Intoxicated, Bailey was involved in an argument with his girlfriend. Fearing the incident may escalate, William C. Bailey, 35, 3840 Patten Mills Road, attempted to intervene. At that point, Charles picked up a machete and began swinging wildly at William. William defended himself with a shovel but was cut by the machete between his right thumb and index finger. Charles fled the scene but was later located walking along Patten Mills Road. He claimed he picked up the machete in self defense; however, two witnesses refuted his claim. William received five stitches for his wound.
* On Sept. 15, Deputy Sheriff Hunter issued a citation to Linda L. Secrest, 61, 2225 Rosemont Drive, Cambridge, for traveling 83 mph in a 70 mph zone near milepost thirteen on Interstate 77 in Salem Township.
* On Sept. 15, a passerby reported a riding mower and a push mower appeared to have been abandoned near a cinder pile on Lindamood Road near the intersection of State Route 821 in Aurelius Township. This case remains under investigation.
* On Sept. 15, Brent Reynolds, 29, 1220 Watertown Road, Waterford, reported during the past week an unknown suspect(s) entered his home and stole approximately $500 in change from a five gallon water jug. This case remains under investigation.
The following suspects were processed into the Washington County Jail Monday and Tuesday:
* Grant Anthony Kegley, 23, 827 Ridge St., Marietta, for theft, a misdemeanor. Kegley was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Kramer of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail.
* David Leonard Carr III, 28, 335 N. Seventh St., Marietta, for a felony charge of failure to comply with the order/signal of an officer and misdemeanor charges of reckless operation and disorderly conduct by intoxication. Carr was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Kampmeier of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail.
* Brody Thomas Flowers, 26, 705 Barclay St. Lot 27 Belpre, for receiving stolen property, a felony. Flowers was arrested in Belpre by Patrolman Tewanger of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail.

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports and charges Sept. 15:
* On Sept. 13, Donald Marcum, 44, 27335 Ohio 7 Lot 8, Marietta, reported his son, Dustin Marcum, 22, was intoxicated following his arrest earlier that morning for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and throwing a tantrum. Donald Marcum said his son forced open their home’s front door and drunkenly threw objects and damaged items in the residence. When a friend of the family, Brandon S. Shaffer, 21, 833 Fifth St., Marietta, arrived at the home, the younger Marcum directed his tirade toward him. Not knowing what Marcum’s intentions were, Shaffer ran away from the scene. As he did so, he saw Dustin Marcum chasing after him with a knife. For his actions, Dustin Marcum was arrested on charges of domestic violence and aggravated menacing and taken to the Washington County Jail. At the jail, Dustin Marcum tested .174 breath alcohol content.
* On Sept. 13, Fanchon Swain, 81, 103 Turner Drive, Belpre, reported the previous afternoon she received a phone call from someone she believed to be her brother requesting $5,000 for bail money. The caller did not identify himself and requested that Swain purchase prepaid cards to fund the bail. Unable to afford $5,000, Swain purchased $3,000 in prepaid cards and provided the numbers to the caller. Swain subsequently learned her brother was never arrested, leading her to learn that she was the victim of a scam.
* On Sept. 14, a summons was requested for Elizabeth R. Knox, 28, 1719 Rosenbush Road, Newport, for assault. A day earlier, Knox was exchanging custody of her children with her estranged husband in Marietta when she attacked her husband’s girlfriend without provocation. The girlfriend was seated in the driver’s seat of her vehicle at the time Knox approached her and slapped her twice in the face. The assault would likely have continued had not the husband and Knox’s friend intervened and pulled her away from the vehicle.
* On Sept. 14, Stanley Ankrom, 60, 11793 Veto Road, Marietta, reported for the second time in a three-day span, he returned to his home to find the front door ajar. Ankrom said no property appears to be missing. Ankrom was advised to better secure the door and install a dead bolt.
* Ihmaud Anthony Carter, 32, 558 Lakeview St., Akron, was arrested on misdemeanor charges of driving under a suspended license and not wearing a seat belt after he was picked up in Akron and placed in the Washington County Jail on Sept. 12 at 3:38 p.m.
* Cynthia Dawn Noland, 39, 438 Faustine Farm Road, Palestine, W.Va., was arrested on misdemeanor charges of cruelty to animals and failing to confine/restrain a dog after she turned herself in to the Marietta City Police Department and was placed in the Washington County Jail on Sept. 12 at 8:15 p.m.
* Tobi Curtis Mace, 25, 590 Lang Farm Road, Marietta, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of violating the terms of his probation in Marietta by the Marietta City Police Department and placed in the Washington County Jail on Sept. 13 at 2:15 a.m.
* Yvonne Marie Brandt, 30, 311 Maple St., Marietta, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct in Marietta by the Marietta City Police Department and placed in the Washington County Jail on Sept. 13 at 3:55 p.m.
* Steven Ray Bishop, 31, HC 70 Box 217, Lenore, W.Va., was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of failure to appear on Ohio 7 by the New Matamoras Police Department and placed in the Washington County Jail on Sept. 13 at 11:06 p.m.
* Anthony James Curry, 25, 554 Curry Road, Waterford, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct by intoxication on Front Street by the Marietta City Police Department and placed in the Washington County Jail on Sept. 14 at 2:38 a.m.
* Ernestine Delores Frye, 77, 29870 Ohio 7, Marietta, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence at her residence and placed in the Washington County Jail on Sept. 14 at 9:37 a.m.
* Brittni Cheyenne Messick, 21, 460 Muskingum Drive, Marietta, was arrested on misdemeanor charges of assault and violating the terms of her probation after she turned herself in to corrections officers and placed in the Washington County Jail on Sept. 14 at 6:20 p.m.
* Charles Keith Bailey, 26, 3830 Patten Mills Road, Stockport, was arrested on a charge of felonious assault at his residence and placed in the Washington County Jail on Sept. 14 at 10:21 p.m.
* Tiffany Michelle Rogers, 33, 164 Knights Bridge Road, Pickerington, Ohio, was arrested on felony charges of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity and two counts of trafficking in drugs in Marietta by the Marietta City Police Department and placed in the Washington County Jail on Sept. 15 at 10:08 a.m.

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports on Sept. 12.
* On Sept. 11, John Hannan, 66, 2424 Layman Road, Vincent, reported an unknown suspect did donuts in a field near his home.
* On Sept?11, Tyler Bills, 19, 270 Hendricks St., Newport, reported his wife, Chelsea, 23, assaulted him. Upset that it appeared her husband was flirting with another woman, Chelsea Bills began an argument in the kitchen of their home. Tyler Bills attempted to avoid his wife but at one point she shoved him into a cabinet and caused him to hit his head. Tyler Bills escaped to a couch, where Chelsea Bills continued her tirade and scratched him several times on the neck, police said. For Chelsea Bills’s alleged actions, Deputy Carr arrested her for domestic violence and transported her to the Washington County Jail.
* On Sept. 12, an employee of the Lyman Pomeroy Library, 300 McIntosh St., Beverly, reported over the past three days employees have found 32 empty DVD cases throughout the library. Surveillance footage appears to show an unknown male and an unknown female removing the DVDs from their cases and hiding the cases on shelves in various locations. The total loss is approximately $586.
* Mark Christopher Haynes, 28, 2100 Hill St., Belpre, was arrested for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Haynes was arrested in Marietta Municipal Court by Patrolman Linscott of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 11 at 11:50 a.m.
* James Lloyd Walker, 37, 242588 Horton Road, Bluefield, W.Va., was arrested for obstructing official business, a misdemeanor. Walker was arrested on Third Street by Patrolman Linscott of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 11 at 12:59 p.m.
* Tiffany Ashton Pendergrass, 25, 303 White Oak Valley, Princeton, W.Va., was arrested for assault, a misdemeanor. Pendergrass was arrested on Third Street by Patrolman Linscott of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 11 at 2:13 p.m.
* Reba Shawnessy Grahovac, 23, 448 Jenkinjones Mountain Road, Anawalt, W.Va., was arrested for menacing, a misdemeanor. Grahovac was arrested on Third Street by Patrolman Linscott of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 11 at 2:25 p.m.
* Chelsey Danielle Bills, 23, 270 Hendricks St., Newport, was arrested for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Bills was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 11 at 2:52 p.m.
* Kevin Randolph Davis, 43, 35 Lubeck Lane, Parkersburg, was arrested for compelling prostitution, a felony. Davis was arrested in Belpre by Lt. Rhodes of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 11 at 3:50 p.m.
* Timothy Wade Forrest, 44, 127 N. Westmoor Ave., Columbus, Ohio, was arrested for a felony charge of possession of drugs, three misdemeanor counts of possession of drugs, and speeding. Forrest was arrested near milepost 11 on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 11 at 6:26 p.m.
* Willard Graden Bush II, 37, 508 Bear Creek Road, Lowell, was arrested for trafficking in drugs, a felony. Bush was arrested at his residence by Sgt. Reeder of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 11 at 11:32 p.m.
* Andrew Ryan Graham, 20, 2845 Lake Road, Fleming, was arrested for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Graham was arrested on Barnett Ridge Road by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 12 at 10:45 a.m.
* Chase Luther Wylie Simmons, 29, Marietta, was arrested for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. Simmons was arrested at the courthouse by Deputy Sheriff Malone and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 12 at 11:10 a.m.

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports on Sept. 11.
* On Sept. 10, Sgt. Mankins arrested Darren W. Noftsger, 55, 115 Dean St., Marietta, and Leo E. Hupp, 52, 280 Summers Road, Marietta, for illegal cultivation of marijuana. The landlord of Hupp’s apartment building reported he found marijuana plants in the basement of the building and he believed the plants and growing accessories belonged to Hupp. In the basement, Mankins observed 10 plants ranging in size from six inches to two and a half feet. Also in the basement were grow lights, fans, soil, plant food and timers. Under questioning, Hupp and Noftsger admitted starting and taking care of the grow together, sheriff’s office said.
* Seth Everett Lawrence, 19, 220 Sheldon Ave., Marietta, was arrested for disorderly conduct by intoxication and for possession of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors. Lawrence was arrested on Cisler Lane by Patrolman Kramer of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 10 at 2:39 p.m.
* David William Hart, 34, 2236 Ohio 83 N, Beverly, was arrested for two misdemeanor counts of failure to appear. Hart was arrested in Beverly by Patrolman Rummer of the Beverly Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 10 at 3:05 p.m.
* Darren Wayne Noftsger, 55, 115 Dean St., Marietta, was arrested for illegal cultivation of marijuana, a felony. Noftsger was arrested on Summers Road by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 10 at 3:44 pm.
* Leo Edwin Hupp, 52, 280 Summers Road, Marietta, was arrested for illegal cultivation of marijuana, a felony. Hupp was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 10 at 4:03 p.m.
* Curtis Carman Lowers, 42, 6370 N. Buttermilk Hill Road, McConnelsville, was arrested for trafficking in drugs and conspiracy in trafficking in drugs, both felonies. Lowers was arrested in Marietta by Detective Staats of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 10 at 8:48 p.m.
* Mary Elizabeth Nicholas, 39, 1001 Third St., Marietta, was arrested for trafficking in drugs, a felony. Nicholas was arrested in Marietta by Detective Staats of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 10 at 9:01 p.m.

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports Sept. 9:
* On Sept. 6, summonses were requested for Christopher A. Ramsay, 23, 2335 Caywood Road, Marietta, and James E. O’Brien, 51, 729 N. Seventh St., Marietta, for disorderly conduct by fighting. The two were working in a barn at 700 Zimmer Road when O’Brien confronted Ramsay about his allegedly poor work habits and called him a little boy. Ramsay became increasingly angry, then shoved O’Brien and punched him in the face. O’Brien pulled Ramsay to the ground and the two grappled among the cow manure on the barn floor. Ramsay blamed O’Brien for initiating the confrontation, stating that O’Brien pulled his fist back in a threatening manner. Neither party was injured during the brief tussle.
* On Sept. 6, Sinda Dyer, 61, 27400 Ohio 7 Lot 50, Marietta, reported her debit card was stolen and used to make four transactions at a local bank. Including ATM transaction fees, Dyer suffered a loss of $628.
* On Sept. 7, Debra D. Peters, 41, 114 Dudley Ave., Marietta, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct by intoxication. Following an argument with her husband, Peters left the Duchess Station in Lowell and started walking on Ohio 60. Peters had a strong odor of alcohol and was unsteady on her feet. Her husband said Peters kicked the windshield and tore up the interior of his truck while the two were traveling. At the Washington County Jail, Peters tested .137 breath alcohol content.
* On Sept. 7, the Beverly Fire Department took a 48-year-old Beverly resident to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment to a drug overdose. The victim ingested a variety of her own prescription medications in an attempt to take her own life, the sheriff’s office said. Emergency room personnel said the victim should fully recover.
* On Sept. 8, a deputy and the New Matamoras, Grandview, Newport and Sardis fire departments responded to a house fire at the home of Stephanie Williams, 42, at 130 Cemetery Drive, New Matamoras. The fire caused significant damage to the home, which is likely a total loss. The origin of the fire appears to be an electrical outlet where an air conditioner and freezer were plugged in. No injuries were reported.
* On Sept. 8, Elizabeth Root, 38, 313 Florence St., Belpre, reported she was driving on Veto Road a day earlier when she noticed her husband, Thomas Root, 46, was following her. Elizabeth Root pulled her vehicle into a gravel parking lot, at which time Thomas Root struck her vehicle with his vehicle. Thomas Root exited his vehicle with a handgun, allegedly pointed it at his wife and fired a shot into the ground. Admitting he followed his wife into the parking lot, Thomas Root claimed he was driving too fast and was unable to stop before striking his wife’s vehicle. Thomas Root denied pointing the gun at his wife but did say that he intended to scare his wife by firing the weapon into the ground. Based on the investigation, Thomas Root was arrested on a charge of domestic violence and placed in the Washington County Jail.
* On Sept. 8, Leo E. Hupp, 52, 280 Summers Road Apt. 2, Marietta, reported he recently discovered pills were missing from his prescription medication dispenser.
* On Sept. 8, a member of the Blennerhassett Area RC Club, 101 Carson Lane, Belpre, reported sometime between Sept. 1 and Sept. 6 unknown suspects entered the club’s buildings and stole a remote control airplane, gasoline, a generator and a plastic table. The total value of the stolen items is approximately $740.
* Wayne Samuel Pletcher, 27, 8721 Dalzell Road, Lower Salem, was arrested on a felony charge of breaking and entering at his residence and placed in the Washington County Jail on Sept. 9 at 2:10 a.m.
* Jason Lee Strickler, 35, 765 Dana’s Run Road, Newport, was arrested on a felony charge of violating the terms of his parole and a misdemeanor charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated in Marietta by the Marietta City Police Department and placed in the Washington County Jail on Sept. 8 at 5:02 p.m.
* William McKinley Weekley III, 51, 103 Chalet Lane, Marietta, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of violating the terms of his probation at the office of his probation officer and placed in the Washington County Jail on Sept. 9 at 9:01 a.m.

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports and charges on Sept. 8.
* On Sept. 5, Deputy Sheriff Carr and the Little Hocking Volunteer Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire at the home of Dreama McElfresh, 34, at 845 Wallace Road, Little Hocking. The fire engulfed the vehicle, leaving it a total loss. Heat from the fire also caused minor warping to the siding of McElfresh’s home. The cause of the fire appears to be electrical.
* On Sept. 6, Deputy Sheriff McKee charged Washington County Jail inmate Benjamin R. Bruce, 25, 111 W. Montgomery St., Lot 23, Marietta, with illegal conveyance of items into a detention facility. In a body cavity, Bruce concealed loose tobacco, rolling papers, a small lighter and a suboxone strip. Bruce initially denied being in possession of any contraband but later produced it on his own accord, police said.
* On Sept. 6, a nearly 2-year-old child received treatment at Marietta Memorial Hospital for a dog bite. At his grandparents’ residence in Salem Township, the child was hugging a German shepherd-mix around the neck when the dog suddenly bit him behind his left ear. The child’s injury was not serious.
* On Sept. 6, the owner of the Lowell Laundromat, 191 Main St., Lowell, reported sometime overnight someone broke a window to enter the business and pried open the coin machines on the washers. The suspect(s) also attempted to open the change machine but were unsuccessful. The owner said the total amount stolen was approximately $30.
* On Sept. 7, Ralph Ollom, 74, 3495 Layman Road, Vincent, reported he was doing yard work when his neighbor’s pit bull-mix ran across the road and bit him on his right calf. The dog ceased its attack when its owners yelled at it. Ollom declined medical attention.
* Paul Andrew Sebring, 43, 709 Cisler Lane, Marietta, was arrested for violating the terms of his parole, a felony. Sebring was arrested at the courthouse by Deputy Sheriff Malone and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 5 at 10:44 a.m.
* Laura Nichole Sears, 28, 1402 St. Marys Ave., Parkersburg, was arrested for theft, a felony. Sears was picked up at the North Central Regional Jail by Deputy Sheriff Ellenwood and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 5 at 12:46 p.m.
* Mario Litterial McDonald, 26, 1338 Lynn St., Parkersburg, was arrested for two felony counts of violating the terms of his probation. McDonald was picked up at the Salem, W.Va. Correctional Center by Deputy Sheriff Underwood and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 5 at 2:11 p.m.
* Elizabeth Ann Russell, 26, 11215 Ohio 550, Athens, was arrested for theft of drugs, a felony. Russell was arrested by Deputy Sheriff McConnell and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 5 at 3:03 p.m.
* Alexis Marie Madary, 36, 992 Butcher Bend Road, Mineral Wells, was arrested for driving under a suspended license and for operating a vehicle with expired license plates, both misdemeanors. Madary was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Bonnette of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 5 at 5:02 p.m.
* Jeremiah Allen Jeffers, 30, 705 Thomas Court, Belpre, was arrested for theft, a misdemeanor. Jeffers was arrested in Beverly by the Beverly Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 5 at 9:09 p.m.
* Matthew Allen Burns Jr., 30, 107 Gates Ave., Marietta, was arrested for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Burns was arrested on Front Street by Patrolman Linscott of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 5 at 10:52 p.m.
* Johanna Sue Fliehman, 44, 704 Mitchell Ave., Beverly, was arrested for theft, a misdemeanor. Fliehman was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff McKee and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 6 at 9:41 p.m.
* Debra Denise Peters, 41, 114 Dudley Ave., Marietta, was arrested for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Peters was arrested in Lowell by Deputy Sheriff Augenstein and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 7 at 5:32 p.m.
* Derek Jordan Jones, 22, 933 Wingett Run Road, Wingett Run, was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, driving under an OVI suspended license, having an inoperable headlight, driving left of center, failure to comply with the order/signal of an officer and violating the terms of his probation, all misdemeanors. Jones was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Sury of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 7 at 6:44 a.m.
* Jason Richard Mylar, 18, 806 Lynn St., Parkersburg, was arrested for receiving stolen property, a misdemeanor. Mylar was arrested on Washington Boulevard by Patrolman Tewanger of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 7 at 8:15 a.m.
* Derrick Javon Mitchell, 20, 929 Staunton Ave., Lot 5, Parkersburg, was arrested for receiving stolen property, a misdemeanor. Mitchell was arrested on Washington Boulevard by Patrolman Tewanger of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 7 at 8:34 a.m.
* Faith Sherae Cannon, 23, 109 Eighth St., Apt. 3, Belpre, was arrested for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Cannon was arrested in Belpre by Patrolman Heddleston of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 7 at 10:43 p.m.
* Kyle Toney Richerson, 27, 706 Kentucky Ave., Bristol, Tenn., was arrested for driving under a suspended license and speeding, both misdemeanors. Richerson was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 8 at 12:09 a.m.
* Celena Dawn Herrington, 26, 1207 30th St., Parkersburg, was arrested for possession of drugs, a misdemeanor. Herrington was arrested in Marietta Municipal Court by Patrolman Hively of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 8 at 10:05 a.m.
* Thomas Howard Root, 46, 313 Florence St., Belpre, was arrested for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Root was arrested in Belpre by Deputy Sheriff McPeek and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 8 at 10:40 a.m.

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports Sept. 5:
* On Aug. 31, the Little Hocking Fire Department took a 49-year-old Little Hocking resident to Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus. The victim made comments to family members and said he ingested a handful of aspirin and washed it down with vodka and beer. He later said he consumed only four or five pills and followed it with small amounts of vodka and beer. Once his blood alcohol content fell to an appropriate level, the victim was scheduled to undergo mental evaluation.
* On Sept. 1, William J. Hamrick, 64, 2811 Brownrigg Road, Waterford, reported his son, Ian K. Hamrick, 42, 1730 Creek Road, Stockport, arrived at his home intoxicated and initiated a confrontation. Ian Hamrick also returned a rifle to his father and placed the rifle on the porch where his father was seated. As his anger increased, Ian Hamrick grabbed his father by the neck and punched him in the head several times. Unable to escape his son, William Hamrick used the rifle to strike his son in the head. Ian Hamrick grabbed the weapon and struck his father in the head. Ian Hamrick then left the scene. Questioned at his residence by the responding deputy, Ian Hamrick denied being involved in any incident. Based on the investigation, Ian Hamrick was arrested on charges of handling a weapon while intoxicated and domestic violence. At the Washington County Jail, Ian Hamrick tested .313 breath alcohol content.
* On Sept. 4, a deputy responded to the scene of a domestic dispute on Ohio 60 near River Road in Muskingum Township. A passerby earlier reported a woman, later identified as Jessica M. Garcia, 22, 35038 Cats Creek Road, Macksburg, was crawling on her hands and knees on the side of the road. Garcia stated she and her boyfriend have been struggling financially and an argument erupted while he was driving her to work that morning. Garcia stated she was not assaulted, nor was she in fear for her safety during the incident. Her boyfriend commented that Garcia attempted to punch him but he blocked her blows with his arms. He also said he was not in fear for his safety. Consequently, this case was closed as unfounded.
* On Sept. 4, a deputy and the Marietta Fire Department responded to a fire at Arnold’s Machine Shop at 101 Simpson St., Marietta. A fire broke out on a 12-foot horse trailer that shop workers were repairing. A new weld appears to have spread to nearby wood panels. The fire was quickly extinguished and caused minimal damage.
* On Sept. 4, Brianne Marshall, 29, 1202 Oxbow Road, Belpre, reported she has been arguing with her live-in boyfriend for the past three days and he became angry when he learned she purchased tobacco with her birthday money. Marshall said they struggled over the box of tobacco but no physical violence occurred. Based on the investigation, this case was closed as unfounded.
* Stacey Lynn Mixer, 25, 110 Miller Ave., Belpre, was arrested on a felony charge of violating the terms of her probation at the Washington County Courthouse and placed in the Washington County Jail on Sept. 4 at 10:27 a.m.
* Aaron Trent Combs, 24, 834 Whitethorn Ave. Apt. D, Columbus, was arrested on misdemeanor charges of possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia on Seventh Street by the Marietta City Police Department and placed in the Washington County Jail on Sept. 4 at 7:25 p.m.
* Jesse James Bell, 33, 18735 Lyons St., Coolville, was arrested on felony charges of illegal assembly of drug making chemicals and complicity in illegal manufacturing of drugs and misdemeanor charges of failure to appear, breach of recognizance and contempt of a court order after he turned himself in to corrections officers and was placed in the Washington County Jail on Sept. 5 at 8:09 a.m.
* Randy Lynn Mick, 25, 51962 Fish Pond Road, Clarington, Ohio, was arrested on a felony charge of aggravated burglary after he was picked up at the Noble County line and placed in the Washington County Jail on Sept. 5 at 8:57 a.m.

MARIETTA – Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports and charges on Sept. 4.
* On Sept. 3, Deputy Sheriff Huffer issued a citation to Iesha McFadden, 18, 180 Main St., Vincent, for driving under a suspended license on Betsy Mitchell Lane in Marietta.
* On Sept. 3, Sam Tolson, 45, 5450 Patten Mills Road, Stockport, was airlifted to Grant Medical Center in Columbus for treatment to injuries he suffered in a fall. Tolson was removing a tree stand from a friend’s nearby property when he fell approximately 30 feet. Tolson was unable to speak but a squad member from the Wesley Volunteer Fire Department said Tolson had difficulty breathing and had pain in his left hip and both wrists. He had a swollen nose and a laceration on the left side of his face. Medical personnel diagnosed Tolson as having fractures to both wrists, a broken nose, two broken vertebrae, several broken ribs, a broken pelvic bone, a ruptured spleen and several bumps and bruises. He is expected to make a full recovery within six to eight weeks, sheriff’s officials said.
* On Sept. 2, Sgt. Anderson and Deputy Sheriff McPeek responded to a domestic dispute at 50 Sunset Lane, Waterford. Daniel Drayer, 48, punched a closet door and threw his wife’s clothing in the yard. Drayer’s wife, who was not home at the time, retrieved her belongings and stayed separated from her husband when she arrived home. The parties agreed that no threats or acts of violence took place. McPeek closed this case as unfounded.
The following suspects were processed into the Washington County Jail Wednesday and Thursday:
* Stephen William Gandee Jr., 36, 4409 Sayre Ave., Parkersburg, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Gandee was arrested at the office of Probation Officer E. Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail.
* Timothy Nelson Carver Sr., 50, 2424 Parker Ave., Apt. 1, Parkersburg, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Carver was arrested in Marietta Municipal Court by Patrolman Hansen of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail.
* Robert Dale Dalrymple, 37, 40500 Lick Skillet Road, Woodsfield, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Dalrymple was arrested at Marietta Memorial Hospital by Patrolman Harlow of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail.
There are 104 men and 22 women being housed in the Washington County Jail.

* On Aug. 29, Christopher G. Bailey, 34, RR 3 Box 267A, Elizabeth, W.Va., was cited for failing to stop at a stop sign after he failed to stop when turning from the exit ramp of U.S. 50 onto Ohio 339 in Belpre Township.
* On Aug. 29, David E. Cutlip, 51, 975 Robert Stone Way, Reedsville, W.Va., was cited for operating a vehicle with a registration that expired in February 2013 on U.S. 50 near Federal Road in Belpre Township.
* On Aug. 29, Joshua J. Freeman, 28, 23409 Lightner Road, Guysville, was cited for driving under a suspended license, not wearing a seat belt and operating a vehicle with expired license plates on U.S. 50 near Federal Road in Belpre Township.
* On Aug. 30, Philip A. Eagle, 48, 1105 Veto Road, Vincent, reported his wife’s son recently stole a generator from his garage. The suspect admitted taking the generator and selling it in order to purchase heroin, police said. Despite her husband’s wishes, his mother was adamant that she did not want to press charges against her son. Since the generator was marital property, the responding deputy will consult the Washington County Prosecutor’s Office to determine if charges are warranted in the case.
* On Aug. 30, Lalania R. Beckett, 43, 99 Dutton Hill Terrace Apt. 146, Parkersburg, was cited for failing to stop at a stop sign after she failed to stop when turning from the exit ramp of U.S. 50 onto Ohio 339 in Belpre Township.
* On Aug. 30, James Fox, 65, 154 Dee St., Waverly, W.Va., was cited for failing to stop at a stop sign after she failed to stop when turning from the exit ramp of U.S. 50 onto Ohio 339 in Belpre Township.
* On Aug. 31, Ralph J. Smith, 60, 247 Fairway Drive, Beverly, reported on more than one occasion during the past few months items were stolen from two buildings on property he owns at 591 Coryhill Road, Waterford. The stolen items include wrought iron, mounted animal heads, a lantern, deer feeder parts and a lawn chair.
* On Sept. 1, the Little Hocking Volunteer Fire Department took a 29-year-old Belpre resident to Marietta Memorial Hospital’s Belpre emergency room for treatment to a prescription drug overdose. The victim ingested between 10 and 15 of her prescription pills and stated she caused herself to regurgitate the pills a short time later. The victim is expected to fully recover.
* Joshua James Freeman, 28, 23409 Lightner Road, Guysville, was arrested on misdemeanor charges of driving under a suspended license, not wearing a seat belt, operating a vehicle with expired license plates and disorderly conduct by intoxication in Little Hocking and placed in the Washington County Jail on Aug. 29 at 3:40 p.m.
* Zachary Barnett, 27, 231 Hillcrest Drive Apt. D, Marietta, was arrested on misdemeanor charges of aggravated menacing and domestic violence at his residence and placed in the Washington County Jail on Aug. 29 at 5:17 p.m.
* Gary Paul Barker, 25, 817 Lenore St., Parkersburg, was arrested on a felony charge of violating the terms of his probation at the office of his probation officer and placed in the Washington County Jail on Aug. 29 at 5:31 p.m.

* Regina Lynn Hoover, 50, Marietta, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct by intoxication in Beverly by the Beverly Police Department and placed in the Washington County Jail on Aug. 30 at 9:31 p.m.
* Tracey Francis Anthony, 24, 45 Wyndham Knot, Parkersburg, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct by intoxication on Maple Street by the Belpre City Police Department and placed in the Washington County Jail on Aug. 31 at 3:38 a.m.
* Anthony Trent Hill, 25, 1154 Patten Mills Road, Bartlett, was arrested on misdemeanor charges of assault and two counts of domestic violence at his residence and placed in the Washington County Jail on Aug. 31 at 6:01 a.m.

* Toni Marie McKain, 22, 806 41st St., Parkersburg, was arrested on a felony charge of vandalism after she was picked up at the Tuscarawas County Jail and placed in the Washington County Jail on Sept. 1 at 11:17 a.m.
