Wood Magistrate

PARKERSBURG — The following cases were handled in Wood County Magistrate Court on May 24:
* Chasity Ann Mahar, 115 Westwood Drive, Rockingham, N.C., pleaded guilty to having improper registration, no proof of insurance and fined $550.50.
* Phillip Mark Thomas, 1593 Stone Glen Road, Lancaster, pleaded guilty to speed limitations (School Zone) and fined $270.25.
* Xander Evan Herrington, 276 Wilderness Valley Road, Davisville, pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle without an inspection certificate.
* Cody L. Potts, 93 Alfred Road, Davisville, pleaded guilty to expired registration and fined $180.25.
* Heather M. Boyles, 3705 Eighth Ave., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of violating a protective order and released on $500 bond.
* A preliminary hearing on a charge of conspiracy to manufacture, deliver or possess with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance was waived against Garret Lee Morrison, Parkersburg.
* A charge of manufacture/deliver/possess with intent to manufacture a Schedule I or II Narcotic was dismissed against Steven Ronald-Phillip Simons Jr., 1513 16th St., Parkersburg, after he was indicted on the charge in Wood County Circuit Court.
* Bobby Jo Grim, 514 23rd St. Apt. 3, Vienna, pleaded no contest to child neglect by parent or guardian or custodian creating risk of bodily injury, fined $170.25 and sentenced to three months in jail which was suspended and he was placed on six months of unsupervised probation. Another charge of child neglect was dismissed, per a plea agreement.
* Charges of domestic assault and domestic battery were dismissed with prejudice against Dale Roger Thorn, Parkersburg.
* A charge of battery dimissed with prejudice against Christopher Allen Dooley, 708 Pike St., Parkersburg.
* Jarrod Vincent Moore, 506 Hawthorn St., PArkersburg, pleaded guilty to trespassing and fined $195.25.
* Joseph William Holland, 38 Bramburt Court, Washington, pleaded no contest to verbal abuse of a non-cummunicative child and fined $1,470.25. Two counts of child abuse by parent or guardian or custodian creating risk of bodily injury were dismissed, per a plea agreement.
* Andrew Everett Schmidt, 3730 St. Rt. 26, Marietta, pleaded guilty to failure to maintain control, having expired tags and fined $180.25. A charge of having no insurance was dismissed.
* Scott Edward Miller, 406 29th St., Vienna, pleaded guilty to domestic battery, fined $170.25 and sentenced to 10 days in jail, which was suspended and he was placed on six months of unsupervised probation. He also has to take counseling for six months.
* Madison Donaway, no address given, was arraigned on a charge of being a fugitive from Washington County on a charge of vehicle theft. She is being held without bond until a hearing can be held in Wood County Circuit Court.
