PARKERSBURG — The following cases were handled in Wood County Magistrate Court on June 23:
* Alexander N. Taylor, 715 Celia St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of possession of a controlled substance and released on a $500 personal recognizance bond.
* Celeste Dawn Scott, 1801 McGraw Run Road, Sandyville, W.Va., was arraigned on a charge of speeding (70 mph in a 55 mph zone) and released on a $200 personal recognizance bond.
* Ricky Allen Thompson, 513 Eighth St., Marietta, was arraigned on a charge of strangulation and released on $10,000 surety bond.
* Cameron Dajoun Fields, 476 East Oak St., Davisville, was arraigned on charges of carrying a deadly weapon by someone under the age of 21 and underaged possession of alcohol and released on $1,000 surety bond.
* Timothy Wayne Hupp Jr., 906 Hawthorne St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of shoplifting, less than $500, and released on a $500 personal recognizance bond.
* Brady Wyatt Boston, 1305 Myrtle St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of leaving the scene of an accident, underaged possession of alcohol, driving on a suspended license, having no insurance and having expired registration and released on $1,000 surety bond.
* Joran M. Biscombe, 5524 Auburn Road, Berea, W.Va., was arraigned on charges of second-offense shoplifting and trespassing and released on a $500 personal recognizance bond.
* Randy Blaine Swisher, 1103 Camden Ave., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of driving on a revoked license for DUI and released on a $500 personal recognizance bond.
* Gregory Lee Freeland Jr., 1193 Dotson Memorial Road, Palestine, was arraigned on charges of third-offense driving on a suspended license and having no registration and released on a $500 personal recognizance bond.
* Kaylan Renea Wallace, 1104 Edwin St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of driving on a revoked license for DUI and released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond.
* Byron J. Moore, 4615 Eighth Ave., Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of having expired registration, having no proof of insurance and having expired MVI and released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond.
* David Jeffrey Caplinger, 2208 Tygart St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of maintaining a dwelling for the use of controlled substances and released on a $10,000 surety bond.
* Brittany Lee Nicole Bell, 800 Seventh Street Apt. 4A, Parkersburg, had a preliminary hearing waived on a charge of receiving or transferring stolen goods. The case was sent to Wood County Magistrate Court.
* Austin Mason Adkins, 2303 Beverly St. Apt. 11A, Parkersburg, had a preliminary hearing waived on a charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. The case was sent to Wood County Magistrate Court.
* Kevin Lee Mays, 6 Wills St, Mineral Wells, had a charge of third-offense driving on a revoked license for DUI dismissed.
* Xavier Paul Carpenter, 705 Hall St. Apt 7, Parkersburg. had a preliminary hearing waived on a charge of grand larceny. The case was sent to Wood County Magistrate Court.
* Jayden Shane Brenton-Weinsheimer, Parkersburg, had a charge of possession of heroin dismissed after a successful deferred sentence agreement.
* Cole Michael Murray, 118 Greenbrier Lane, Davisville, had a charge of receiving or transferring a stolen vehicle dismissed without prejudice after presenting a bill of sale for the motorcycle and Facebook messages regarding its sale.
* Brock Allen Pribble, 7251 Cisco Road, Petroleum, pleaded no contest to fishing without a license and fined $196.48
* Alan Dale Moody, 129 Star Ave., Parkersburg, pleaded no contest to trespassing and fined $276.48.
* Laura Ellen Eckert, 800 7th Street Apt. 4A, Parkersburg, pleaded no contest to shoplifting and fined $186.48. She was ordered to pay a $50 civil penalty to 130 Park Center Dr. in Parkersburg.
* Ashton Aaron Hutson, 1420 Spring St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to driving on a suspended license and having expired registration and fined $462.96.

PARKERSBURG — The following cases were handled in Wood County Magistrate Court on June 24:
* Mark James Hinton, 109 Elm St., Belpre, had charges of having no insurance and driving on a suspended license dismissed after obtaining a valid driver’s license and showing proof of insurance to the court.
* Amber Brooke Striker-Bass, Clay, W.Va., had a charge of domestic battery dismissed as the defendant has paid restitution and the victim no longer wishes to prosecute.
* James Patrick Bruce Sr., 906 Lynn St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to trespassing and fined $186.48
* Anthony Michael Steele, 6404 McCorkle Ave. Sw, Saint Albans, W.Va., had a preliminary hearing waived on charges of escape from custody and transporting illegal materials into a jail facility. The case was sent to Wood County Circuit Court.
* Rebekah Rae Baker, Parkersburg, pleaded no contest to trespassing and fined $276.48
* Ronald Wayne Byers, 506 Hawthorne St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to escape/attempted escape, fined $176.48 and sentenced to 60 days in jail.
* Andrew Stanfill Knight, 112 Valley Mills Dr., Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of failure to maintain control and having no proof of insurance and released on a $500 personal recognizance bond.
* Vanessa Nicole Kramer, 1719 Spring St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of second offense driving on a suspended license and having no seat belt and released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond.
* James Paul Smith, Washington, W.Va., was arraigned on a charge of domestic battery and released on a $500 surety bond.
* Whitney Carolyn Ball, 1322 42nd St., Parkersburg, pleaded no contest to driving on a suspended license and fined $276.48.
* Pharyn Dawn Malcomb, 13 Heater Hollow, Weston, W.Va., pleaded guilty to speeding and fined $186.48. A charge of having no proof of insurance was dismissed after proof was provided to the court.
* Jesse Alan Griffin, 229 Woodridge Drive, Mineral Wells, pleaded no contest to speeding in a construction zone (15 mph or more in excess) and fined $196.48.
* Pamela Jean Morehead, 73 Oakbrook Dr., Mineral Wells, pleaded guilty to using a cellphone while driving and fined $276.48.
