PARKERSBURG — The Wood County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports on Nov. 17.
* From Nov. 8-15, deputies answered or responded to 456 calls: 103 traffic stops; 59 speak-to-complainant by phone and in person; 15 domestic calls and domestic protective orders served; 25 traffic accidents; eight mental hygiene order/pickup/transport; 14 suspicious person/vehicle disorderly subject/vehicle; six assist agency/assist motorist/assist subject; 11 residence/business/area checks; 22 disorderly subject/motorist.
Nov. 8
* A citation was issued to Andrew Charles Redden, 24, Sullivan, Ohio, for speeding 78 in a 55 mph construction zone and no insurance.
* A deputy while responding to a domestic in progress stopped to assist another deputy with a subject who was possibly involved with the incident. John Nicholas Banks, 43, of Pike Street, Marietta, was arrested on a capias for charges of possession of heroin and possession of fentanyl.
* A citation was issued to Eden Nicole Pennington, 33, of Butcher Bend Road, for speeding 32 in a 15 mph zone.
* A deputy while observing traffic at Staunton Turnpike at Kanawha School observed a vehicle traveling faster than the posted school zone speed limit of 15 mph with flashing lights. A traffic stop was conducted, and Bryce Michael Stacy, 25, of Hill Street, Belpre, was arrested on a warrant for driving on a suspended/revoked license, defective equipment and expired registration. He was also given three new charges of driving on a suspended/revoked license, no insurance and speeding in a school zone. He was processed at the Holding Center, arraigned before a magistrate, given a personal recognizance bond and released.
* A citation was issued to Abigail Starr Snipes, 26, of Phillips Street, Marietta, for speeding 28 in a 15 mph school zone.
* A citation was issued to Eric Gene Salyers, 32, of Maple Shades Court for third-offense driving on a suspended/revoked license and speeding 24 in a 15 mph school zone.
* A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle after it was observed straddling the yellow lines taking up both lanes on Interstate 77. Devon James Johnson, 33, of Pierpont South Estates, Morgantown, was arrested on two capias warrants for speeding and driving on a suspended/revoked license. He was processed, arraigned and released on bond.
* Bridget Marie Jackson, 44, of Elmwood Avenue was issued a citation for driving on a suspended/revoked license and no proof of insurance.
* A deputy responded to Davis Lane for a breaking and entering and a grand larceny that had already occurred. The complainant reported that his Yamaha YZ250X had been stolen from his garage. The door had been pried open, and the Yamaha was entered into NCIC. The investigation is ongoing.
* A deputy responded to the area of Robert C. Byrd Highway near Staunton Turnpike for a vehicle accident involving a deer. The driver stated she was traveling west when the deer entered the road and collided with the vehicle. Damage was observed to the driver’s side front, and a crash report was taken.
* A deputy responded to the area of Farrow Hill Road near Murphytown Road for a full-size semi tractor and trailer which had crossed over Farrow Hill Road and was stuck on the narrow bridge at the end of the road. After a series of maneuvers the semi driver was able to cross over the bridge. The guardrail in the area had been brushed, resulting in no damage to the semi. The West Virginia Division of Highways was notified to check the bridge.
* A 17-year-old resident of 18th Avenue was issued a citation for speeding 120 in a 65 mph zone on U.S. 50 near the Blennerhassett bridge.
Nov. 9
* A deputy responded to the park and ride on Core Road for a larceny. The complainant reported the catalytic converter was taken off of his 2004 Toyota Camry.
* Deputies responded to Hayes Street for an overdose. Numerous occupants were in the residence where EMS was attending the patient who wished to be transported. James Paul Bryan, 50, of Hayes Street was issued a citation for possession of a controlled substance.
* A citation was issued to Harry Lee Dye, 81, of Hartley Road, Brohard, W.Va., for speeding 21 in a 15 mph school zone.
* A citation was issued to Vanessa Dawn Echard, 38, of Cave Hill Road, Little Hocking, for speeding 32 in a 15 mph school zone.
* A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle near East Seventh and Seventh streets. Blake Andrew Boyles, 21, of Concord Street, Harrisville, was arrested on charges of reckless driving, expired registration and no proof of insurance. He was transported to the Holding Center for processing, arraigned before a magistrate and released on bond.
* A citation was issued to Deborah Nepper Florence, 61, of DuPont Road for speeding 84 in a 65 mph zone.
* A citation was issued to Jenna Lynn Kalamaros, 19, of Pine Tree Lane, Morgantown, for speeding 92 in a 65 mph zone.
* A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle and citations were issued to Haley Brooke Varner, 22, of Packard Street for driving on a suspended/revoked license and no seatbelt and to Tyler Edward Mackey, 24, of Shepard Street for permitting no operator’s and no seatbelt.
* A deputy responded to the Williamstown Welcome Center for a single-vehicle accident involving a deer. The deer had been located at I-77 northbound near the 178 mile marker and removed. The driver of the vehicle stated she was on I-77 when she struck the deer. A crash report was taken, and the vehicle was driven from the scene.
* A deputy responded to West Virginia 47 for a single-vehicle accident involving a deer. The driver stated she was traveling east when she struck the deer near Meadville Road. A crash report was taken and the driver wished to keep the expired deer, which was loaded into the bed of the vehicle.
Nov. 10
* A deputy responded to the area of Williams Highway to a check subject hiding in the woods and texting a friend for help. Audriouna Leigh Gaudio, 33, of Charles Street, Wellsburg, W.Va., was arrested on a capias for failure to appear. Gaudio was transported to the Holding Center and placed pending arraignment.
* A citation was issued to Ryan Crete Yeager, 33, of Progress Ridge Road for speeding 83 in a 65 mph zone.
* A citation was issued to Michael Alan Snyder, 56, of David Lee Drive for failure to obey traffic device (red light).
* A deputy responded to the I-77 southbound lanes off the Marietta bridge for a vehicle accident involving a dog. The driver advised she struck the dog and then stopped and removed it from the road, contacted law enforcement and continued home. The deputy located the dog, which was critically injured from the crash and had to be dispatched. The driver advised the deputy she had kept the dog collar based upon its rabies tag to attempt to notify the owner.
* A deputy responded to Emerson Avenue for a vehicle theft. The complainant reported he had arrived home and observed his motorcycle, a Yamaha F26R, was missing. The motorcycle has been entered into NCIC.
* A citation was issued to Jeffrey Cole Brown, 37, of Bashan Road, Long Bottom, Ohio, for second-offense driving on a suspended/revoked license.
* A deputy responded to New England Ridge Road for a vehicle accident. The Jeep Liberty was located tipped over on a hillside and half the vehicle was in the road. The driver and passenger were still inside the vehicle unable to exit. A person who lived nearby arrived with a tractor and pulled the vehicle out, and the driver and passenger were able to exit the vehicle. The driver was apparently learning to drive and pressed the accelerator instead of the brake, which caused the vehicle to go off the road and into the hillside. A crash report was taken.
* A deputy responded to Slate Run Road for a domestic disturbance. Neither the man nor woman wished to pursue charges. Both were advised on how to obtain domestic violence protective orders.
Nov. 11
* A deputy responded to U.S. 50 and I-77 for a report of a disabled vehicle after multiple 991 calls reported it being sideways. The vehicle was sitting perpendicular across the exit ramp from I-77 northbound onto U.S. 50 eastbound with the bumper against the guardrail and the front end in the left-turning lane. Richard Wayne Sams, 64, of Roselynne Avenue was arrested on charges of driving under the influence, driving on a suspended/revoked license, expired registration, no insurance and expired motor vehicle inspection. He was transported to the Holding Center for processing and placed pending his arraignment.
* A deputy responded to Mineral Wells Car Care on Elizabeth Pike for a breaking and entering and a destruction of property. Someone broke into a coin machine in the car wash bay and broke into the office and stole money. Damage was done to the lock for the coin machine in the wash bay, and a steel plate which covered the door latch for the office was damaged.
* Carrie Deann Queen, 26, of Custer Street was issued a citation for second-offense driving on a suspended/revoked license and no insurance.
* Austin Taylor George, 22, of 22nd Street was issued a citation for no operator’s license and expired registration.
* A traffic stop was conducted after a deputy observed a vehicle with an expired registration. A citation was issued to Robert Cole Wilson, 24, of Meldahl Road for possession of a controlled substance.
* A citation was issued to Emma Teetta Ray, 40, of 23rd Street, Huntington, for speeding 96 in a 70 mph zone.
* A citation was issued to Tessa Nichole Boyd, 25, of Florida Street, Sistersville, for speeding 102 in a 70 mph zone.
* A deputy responded to the Family Dollar on Harris Highway in reference to a suspicious vehicle with a male inside passed out with his foot on the gas pedal and the vehicle in park. The deputy observed the vehicle to be running with the engine revving excessively. The deputy tapped on the window to wake the driver and instructed him to take his foot off the gas pedal. Ronnie Gene Belue, 81, of Cypress Street, Ravenswood, was arrested on a charge of DUI. He was transported to the Holding Center, where he was placed pending his arraignment.
Nov. 12
* A deputy conducted a traffic stop after he observed a vehicle traveling faster than the posted 45 mph speed on Emerson Avenue. Michael Randy Showalter, 50, of Cross Creek Lane, Mineral Wells, was arrested on charges of aggravated DUI and speeding. He was transported to the Holding Center for processing and placed pending his arraignment.
* A traffic stop was conducted on Frontage Road after a deputy observed a vehicle traveling faster than the posted speed limit. Jason Aaron Tallman, 49, of West Second Street, Williamston, was arrested on a charge of DUI. He was transported to the Holding Center for processing and placed pending his arraignment.
* A deputy responded to the intersection of Stillwell Road and Little Stillwell Road in reference to a suspicious box trailer. The complainant stated that when he left for work, the box trailer was sitting at the intersection. Upon returning home from work, it was still there, which he found odd. The trailer had been stolen out of Jackson County, and the owner was notified to have the tow company tow it to their lot.
* Deputies responded to New England Ridge Road in reference to a domestic incident that had already occurred. The female stated that she could not get the door open as it had been broken with the hinges bent. She stated that she and her husband had gotten into an argument and he began screaming at her, punching the bedroom door and pounding on the walls. She stated no physical violence was directed at her. The male returned, gathered his belongings and left. She was advised on a domestic violence protective order.
* A deputy responded to the 7-Eleven on Harris Highway in reference to a female subject asking the clerk for help. The female said she was in a physical altercation with her girlfriend. Lindsey Nicole Morrison, 24, of Lubeck Road was arrested on charges of domestic battery. She was transported to the Holding Center for processing and placed pending her arraignment.
Nov. 13
* A traffic stop was conducted on Staunton Turnpike on a vehicle with no registration plate. A citation was issued to Sarah Kimberly Middleton, 42, of Rayon Drive for driving on a suspended/revoked license. The vehicle was towed.
* A deputy responded to I-77, mile marker 185.5, in reference to a vehicle accident involving a deer. The vehicle was observed sitting in the righthand lane, completely disabled with heavy front end damage. The driver said he was traveling south when the deer suddenly entered the roadway. The vehicle was towed.
* Eric Lee Harmon Jr., 34, of Nora Street turned himself in on a capias issued through Circuit Court. He was processed and placed.
* Deputies responded to Post Mill Way Apartments in reference to a domestic that already occurred. Deputies were advised the caller stated her father had kicked her out of the apartment. The female was located at the intersection and stated no argument occurred; however, she was kicked out. The deputies spoke with the father, who stated he did kick her out. A local check showed a warrant for the female. Amber Lindsey Newland, 38, of Post Mill Way Apartments was arrested on the warrant for obstructing an officer. She was transported to the Holding Center for processing, arraigned before a magistrate and held on a $2,000 bond.
* A citation was issued to Matthew Evert Sprouse, 41, of Laverne Street for driving on a suspended/revoked license and improper registration.
* A deputy responded to Willard Road in reference to a vehicle accident involving a deer. The driver stated that he had struck the deer causing damage to the grill and slight damage to the hood of the vehicle. The vehicle was driven from the scene and a crash report taken.
Nov. 14
* A citation was issued to David Lee Barbeau, 61, of Thrush Lane, Swansea, Illinois, for speeding 33 in a 15 mph school zone.
* A deputy spoke with a complainant who reported his 2003 Suzuki Boulevard white motorcycle had been stolen from Riggs Run Road between Nov. 2-3. Asked why he waited so long to report the theft, he advised he reported to his insurance and thought that would cover it. The motorcycle has been entered into NCIC.
* A deputy responded to Emerson Avenue/Fisher Lane in reference to an accident. The crash occurred due to the driver of a truck for Southern West Virginia Paving not being able to see low power lines from inside the cab. The driver had dumped a load of asphalt into the paver, pulled forward to clean out the bed and caught the power lines. An employee from MonPower working on the repair estimated the cost to be over $5,000 for materials as he advised the transformer was ruined in addition to the pole.
* A deputy responded to Ralston Road in reference to a vehicle accident. A postal worker had flipped her car on its side. The vehicle was flipped back onto its wheels, and the tow truck transported it to the driver’s residence. The driver was taken to the hospital by a family member.
* A citation was issued to Colt William Lutz, 19, of Love Hill Road for speeding 60 in a 45 mph zone.
* A citation was issued to Kara Renee McAtee, 38, of Buckner Bend Road for Speeding 67 in a 55 mph zone. She was also given a verbal warning on expired registration and expired motor vehicle inspection.
Nov. 15
* A citation was issued to Andrew Stanfill Knight, 19, of Valley Mills Road for speeding 61 in a 45 mph zone.
* A citation was issued to Steven G. Howes, 46, of Canal Street, Weatogue, Connecticut, for driving on a suspended/revoked license and no proof of insurance.
* A citation was issued to Cameron James Cowan, 31, of Willowbrook Drive for third-offense driving on a suspended/revoked license.
* A deputy responded to Family Court in reference to a warrant service. Michael Wayne Moore, 71, of Pinetree Road was arrested on a warrant for violation of a domestic violence protective order. He was processed, arraigned and released on a personal recognizance bond.
* A citation was issued to Gary A. Mitchell, 64, of Burnt House Road for speeding 56 in a 45 mph posted construction zone.
* A citation was issued to James Lee Spaur, 47, of Meadowview Drive for driving on a suspended /revoked license and expired registration.
* A citation was issued to Teresa Kaye Pierce, 42, of Valley Mills Drive for speeding 63 in a 45 mph construction zone.
* A deputy responding to a two-vehicle accident in the area of Willowbrook Drive observed another vehicle attempting to pass one of the involved vehicles and the cruiser parked at the scene. A loud crunch was heard by the deputy, who yelled for the driver to stop. The driver failed to do so even after the deputy activated his emergency lights and siren. The vehicle pulled into Birkenstock and began backing into a parking space. The driver, Ronald Eugene Harvey, 68, of Willowbrook Drive was arrested on a DUI charge. He was taken to the Holding Center for processing and placed pending his arraignment. The vehicle was towed.
* A citation was issued to William Allan Stoops, 63, of Friendly Hill Road, Friendly, for speeding 67 in a 45 mph zone.
* Deputies responded to Maple Shades Court in reference to a domestic dispute. The female stated she only wished for the male subject to leave the residence. Both the male and female were advised on how to obtain domestic violence protective orders, and the male left for the evening.
* Citations were issued to Otis Miseal Brewster, 44, of Packard Street for speeding 65 in a 45 mph work zone, no insurance, driving on a suspended/revoked license and expired motor vehicle inspection.
* A deputy responded to Staunton Turnpike in reference to a single-vehicle accident with the vehicle on its side. Garrett James Haught, 19, of Walker Road was processed at the Holding Center and issued a citation for DUI under 21 and released to a family member. A passenger in the vehicle, Seth Franklin Newland, 18, of Vaughan Avenue, was issued a citation for underage consumption. During the investigation, another vehicle had arrived with the occupants stating they were friends of the other subjects. James Andrew Craddock, 18, of White Oak Road was issued a citation for underage consumption and expired operator’s license and Brayden Sean Stephens, 18, of Walker Road was issued a citation for underage consumption and released to family members.
* Deputies responded to Staunton Turnpike in reference to a domestic dispute. The female stated the male had busted through the bedroom door, began removing dresser drawers in an aggressive manner and lunged at her. Kyle Wade Long, 31, of Staunton Turnpike was arrested on a charge of domestic assault. He was processed at the Holding Center and placed pending his arraignment.
