New York man facing drug charges after Parkersburg arrest

PARKERSBURG — A man Monday was charged with drug crimes after the Parkersburg Narcotics Task Force and Parkersburg Police S.W.A.T. team conducted a search of a south Parkersburg residence, the task force said.
Police and agents served the warrant at 1600 Camden Ave., Apt. 2, Parkersburg, where Richard J. Madison and two others were present, the task force said.
While searching the residence, agents found digital scales, baggies commonly used for packaging controlled substances, marijuana, a large amount of currency, multiple firearms, about 5.1 ounces of suspected methamphetamine and about 2 pounds of suspected fentanyl, the task force said.
Madison, also known as Flea, 43, Endicott, N.Y., was arrested on one count of possession with intent to deliver fentanyl, one count of possession with Intent to deliver methamphetamine, two counts of persons prohibited from possessing a firearm and on an outstanding warrant for delivery of fentanyl, the task force said.
He was arraigned before Wood County Magistrate Robin Waters, who set bond at $950,000 surety.
The Parkersburg Violent Crime and Narcotics Task Force is composed of investigators from the Parkersburg Police Department, Wood County Sheriff’s Department, Vienna Police Department, Williamstown Police Department and the West Virginia State Police.
