RIPLEY — A Jackson County man was charged with solicitation of a minor with a computer, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday said. James Lee Webb, 55, of Millwood was booked into the North Central Regional Jail Monday afternoon on $100,000 cash or surety bond. Webb is accused of sending a picture to a 15-year-old girl in Harrison County, the sheriff’s office said. Deputy sheriffs, agents with the Jackson County Bureau of Investigations and officers from Nutter Fort Police Department executed a search warrant at Webb’s residence in Millwood and then apprehended him at his place of employment a short time later, the sheriff’s office said. He was charged with one count of solicitation of a minor via a computer, the sheriff’s office said. The arrest was the second involving minors in less than a week by the department. The sheriff’s office on Friday arrested Brent Michael Jones, 33, a former teacher at Ravenswood High School, on two counts of sexual conduct with a student. Jones remained in the South Central Regional Jail on Tuesday on $200,000 bond, according to the Division of Corrections.
