Masks required in all WVU Medicine facilities

PARKERSBURG — Masks are still required at WVU Medicine hospitals and clinics, the health care organization said Tuesday.

All patients and visitors above age 2 must wear a mask at all times and will be screened upon entering a facility, WVU Medicine said.

Local WVU Medicine facilities are Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg, Jackson General Hospital in Ripley, Wetzel County Hospital in New Martinsville and the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute at Camden Clark.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention last week said fully vaccinated Americans, those who are two weeks past receiving the second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines or two weeks past the single-dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine, can resume activities without wearing a mask or physically distancing, except where required by laws, rules and regulations, including local business and workplace guidelines.

The recommendations are not intended for healthcare settings, according to WVU Medicine.

Residents age 12 and older can schedule an appointment for a COVID vaccine at vaccine.wvumedicine.org.

Starting at $2.99/week.
