Belpre City Schools confirms COVID-19 cases

BELPRE — Three cases of COVID-19 each have been confirmed at Belpre Elementary and Belpre High School, the school district announced Friday.

Posts on the Belpre City Schools website, belpre.k12.oh.us, did not identify whether the individuals at each building were students or staff members, citing privacy of health information. Contact tracing by the Marietta/Belpre Health Department resulted in nine students being quarantined from the high school and four from the elementary, the posts said.

The district is providing meals for students learning virtually or in families impacted by COVID-19 quarantines. They can order meals online at forms.gle/jGQdgtRpDb9Ce3Fm9 to pick up at 6 p.m. Monday at Belpre Elementary.

Marietta City Schools has also seen an increase in COVID cases, with confirmed cases in all six academic buildings and in the district’s central office. In total, the district had reported 20 confirmed cases of the virus between students and staff.
