Staff Report CHARLESTON — Active COVID-19 cases are again below 900 in West Virginia, according to the Department of Health and Human Resources on Tuesday. The state reported 860 statewide active cases of the virus, although health officials believe the actual number of infections may be higher because home tests are not automatically reported. CHARLESTON — Three Jackson County residents were among the deaths from the COVID-19 coronavirus confirmed on Friday by the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources. The Jackson County deaths were a 68-year-old man, a 57-year-old man and a 90-year-old man, the department said. Seventeen deaths were reported on Friday by the department. CHARLESTON — Active cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus slightly decreased between Wednesday and Thursday in West Virginia, according to the latest statistics from the Department of Health and Human Resources. The state reported 1,041 cases statewide on Thursday, down 38 from 1,079 on Wednesday. Another 332 new cases were received between Wednesday and Thursday mornings, the state said.
