Esbenshade Series announces 46th season

MARIETTA — Marietta College’s Esbenshade Series will open its 46th season Oct. 15, bringing dance, music and a lecture on music history to the community through March. The 2026-27 season features five events at Peoples Bank Theatre and the college’s Alma McDonough Auditorium. 8th annual 5K run/walk and Firefighter Challenge planned

The Tuppers Plains Volunteer Fire Department in Meigs County will host its 8th annual 5K Run/Walk and Firefighter Challenge at 10 a.m. Oct. 3. The race will begin and end at the fire station in Tuppers Plains. The event offers an extra challenge for firefighters to walk the course in full bunker gear and packs. All walkers and runners as invited to participate in the race. Cost is $25 for first responders and military personnel, $30 for 16 and under and 64 and older, and $35 for those aged 17 to 64. Jigsaw meet scheduled

MARIETTA - The First Presbyterian Church, 501 Fourth St., Marietta, is inviting anyone who loves doing jigsaw puzzles to help assemble four 1000-piece puzzles. Participants can choose the puzzle and have fellowship with others. Two opportunities are in October, from 2-5 p.m. Oct. 4 and Oct. 18, and participants can do one or both days. Participation is free, but snacks to share are encouraged. Enter through the church parking lot door.
