The Tuppers Plains Volunteer Fire Department in Meigs County will host its 8th annual 5K Run/Walk and Firefighter Challenge at 10 a.m. Oct. 3.
The race will begin and end at the fire station in Tuppers Plains. The event offers an extra challenge for firefighters to walk the course in full bunker gear and packs.
All walkers and runners as invited to participate in the race. Cost is $25 for first responders and military personnel, $30 for 16 and under and 64 and older, and $35 for those aged 17 to 64.

Awards will be presented for the first place male and first place female in each age category for each of the three divisions of walkers, runners and firefighter challenge participants.
