PARKERSBURG — The Parkersburg Art Center will hold an opening reception celebrating two exhibitions on Friday, Jan. 16, from 5-7 p.m.
Both shows will be on view through Feb. 21.
“Rinse and Repeat: An Exhibit by ArtBeat Studio” marks a long awaited and meaningful return. The exhibition first opened in March 2020 and closed just one day later. Artists from the Wood County Society’s ArtBeat Studio will once again fill the space with their artwork.
ArtBeat Studio is a collaborative and adaptive community arts center in downtown Parkersburg. Using an exploratory, process-based approach, artists work with materials such as paint, clay, thread, paper mache, and fabric. The studio is rooted in accessibility and inclusion, supporting artists with developmental differences as they build confidence and create together, often from up-cycled materials.
Abby Hayhurst, PAC Artistic Director, shared, “This exhibit is about celebrating the joy that comes from making art together. We are so excited to bring this work back into the PAC.”

Opening alongside “Rinse and Repeat” is “Rabbit Medicine and Other World-Building,” featuring work by Savannah Schroll Guz.
Guz’s art has been exhibited throughout the East Coast and Midwest and is held in private collections from New York City to San Diego. She represented West Virginia in the national Her Flag Project and was named a 2025 West Virginia Creative Network Creative Entrepreneur Fellow.
“My work is a form of world building,” said Guz. “Each piece becomes its own small universe, shaped by folklore, memory, and imagination, inviting viewers to step into something both familiar and strange.”
Works from both exhibitions will be available for purchase throughout the run of the shows. Visitors can also find work by ArtBeat Studio artists and Savannah Schroll Guz year round in The Market, the Parkersburg Art Center’s retail shop.
The opening reception is free and open to the public due to the admission sponsorship of WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center. Regular Art Center and Market hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.
The Parkersburg Art Center is committed to supporting creativity and culture in the community through exhibitions, programs, educational opportunities, special events and more. For more information, visit www.parkersburgartcenter.org or email info@parkersburgartcenter.org.
