Ohio River Sternwheel Festival 2025: Art, fireworks, car show among activities

MARIETTA — The Ohio River Sternwheel Festival will feature a variety of activities and attractions Friday through Sunday.
* The Sternwheel Art Stroll brings together artists and makers from near and far during the Ohio River Sternwheel Festival.
Festival-goers will be able to explore unique, one-of-a-kind creations, meet the people behind the work, and enjoy a full day of creativity, community, and riverfront fun from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
* Children’s activities will be held Saturday and Sunday at The Armory on Front Street. There will be toddler water, sand and bubble activities along with a coloring and games station and a Chemistry InAction! Lemonade Lab. Other activities will include a Mini Highland Cow Exhibit, inflatables, adoptable animals from the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley and programs from The Wilds.
* The annual Harry J. Robinson Fireworks will be shot from a barge on the Ohio River and will be choreographed to music which will be broadcast by 99 WXIL. The fireworks display will be 9:30 p.m. Saturday.
The theme for this year’s fireworks and music simulcast is AC/DC and Queen with a special tribute to the late Ozzy Osbourne, organizers said.
* The 26th annual Sternwheel Festival Car Show will take place on Sunday in the 200 block of Second Street in downtown Marietta.
Registration is 8-10 a.m. with a $20 entry fee. The show is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. T-shirts will be given to the first 200 registered participants. Queen Genevieve will be selecting a “Queen’s Choice” vehicle.
