MHS Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet

The Marietta High School Athletic Hall of Fame committee would like to extend you a special invitation to our upcoming banquet. The induction ceremony will take place on Saturday, Oct. 11 at the Tower Event Conference Center.

This year’s class includes Jen Gwin Theissen (2001), Cory Kriechbaum (2007), Doak Markley (1970), Leanne Ross Kelly (2010), Marc Warden (1991), and the late Andy Wentis (1981). The inductees will also be recognized during the home varsity football game on Friday, Oct. 10.

Tickets for the event, which includes a buffet dinner, are $40 each. Table sponsorships, which include up to eight tickets, are also available for $300 each.

MOV Prep Football Stats Participation

Mid-Ohio Valley prep football teams wanting to participate in the weekly leaders should send in full cumulative to date stats by three p.m. each Monday to jbennett@newsandsentinel.com and jholland@mariettatimes.com.

South Girls Basketball Hosts Golf Scramble

The Parkersburg South girls basketball team will hold a fundraising golf scramble on Saturday, Oct. 4 at the Golf Club of WV.

Registration is at 8 a.m. and starts at 9 a.m. Entry fee is $300 a team which includes mulligans, tee busters & lunch.

In addition, other contests and skill prizes will be available. Cash prizes available for first, second and 10th place. Hole sponsorships are available as well.
