MARIETTA — The 49th Annual Ohio River Sternwheel Festival will be held this coming weekend Friday, Sept. 5 – Sunday, Sept. 7 along the Ohio River in Marietta.

The festival that began in 1976 as a project between Harry Robinson, Capt. Gene Finch and Capt. Bob Limle has grown over the years and, according to the organizing committee, has attracted over 100,000 people to the Marietta riverside in the past 49 years.

The event includes a line up of sternwheel boats set up along the riverfront which people can view as well as live entertainment, food and more. Visitors can also visit many of the shops in downtown Marietta throughout the weekend.
