Around the Race Course: Dogleg – Mile 2.95

Dogleg – Mile 2.95

The footprint marking the dogleg is one of more than a hundred of the feet that marks the 13.1-mile route of the half marathon. Mile 2.95 is where runners and walkers will make a dogleg, a sharp turn/bend in the road, before continuing toward mile marker 3. The dogleg is to allow adjustments to the course when needed to extend or shorten the course due to construction. While making this sharp turn around a cone in the road, do not forget to get a high five from a volunteer before starting the next mile.

The News and Sentinel Half Marathon and Two-Mile Race will be held Aug. 16. Register for the races at: https://www.newsandsentinelhalfmarathon.com/. Questions? Contact Race Coordinator Sarah Watson at halfmarathon@newsandsentinel.com.

Starting at $2.99/week.
