PARKERSBURG — Donors’ dollars can go a little further when they contribute to one or multiple nonprofits on Tuesday, May 6, during the annual Give Local MOV event.
The annual 24-hour online giving campaign is coordinated by the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation, which underwrites the campaign costs, provides the secure donation platform and supports nonprofits through outreach, training and resources.
There are 67 nonprofit organizations from throughout the Foundation’s service area participating in the 2025 event, representing a wide range of community needs and interests.
From midnight Tuesday to midnight Wednesday, donations made to these nonprofits online at www.GiveLocalMOV.org will be matched dollar-for-dollar (up to a finite amount), thanks to sponsors including Superior Toyota and the Mary M. Welch Advised Fund of the PACF. Nonprofits will also be eligible for hourly cash prizes throughout the day.
“Give Local MOV is a great reminder that you don’t have to go far to make a difference,” said Julie Posey, PACF’s senior development and stewardship officer. “The nonprofits in our communities do so much to enrich our lives. When we give local, we invest in the place we call home. And when that gift is matched during Give Local MOV, the impact is doubled. It’s a win for everyone.”

Each organization begins with an assigned portion of the total matching funds. If any nonprofit exceeds its initial match, it may receive a share of any remaining unclaimed matching dollars at the end of the event.
