Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati bringing Southern-style ‘Cinderella’ to Mid-Ohio Valley schools

PARKERSBURG — “Hear, Ye! Hear, Yeee-Haw!” A one-woman Cinderella show is coming to area schools.
The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati (TCT) will present “Cinderella Wore Cowboy Boots” to area school students through cooperation with Artsbridge. The traveling show is educational and promises “knee-slapping” comedic moments as well as heartwarming life lessons.
“Cinderella Wore Cowboy Boots” is complete with a Q&A session after the interactive show commences. And yes, Cinderella delivers her solo act with a bit of a Southern twang.
As far as the happily-ever-after fairytale goes, the “Cowboy Boots” storyline is fairly similar to the original. Rosvic Siason, who portrays Southern Cinderella as well as five other characters in the show including the Fairy Godmother, will deliver the performance with a bit of contemporary, casual tone with touches of ad-lib and improv moments.
The audience is very important. They will be prompted to interact, deliver lines and repeat after Cinderella throughout the production. “Cinderella Wore Cowboy Boots” will deliver a funny, meaningful twist on the classic fairytale that prompts audiences to expand their imagination.
The show will open for kindergarten through second grade students in Pleasants and Ritchie counties on Monday, April 8. It will be presented to Wood Country students on Tuesday, April 9, Belpre and Washington Elementary schools on Wednesday, April 10, and will conclude with Warren and Waterford Elementary schools on Thursday April 11.
Artsbridge Arts Education Coordinator, Paula Oliverio commented “this is the final “Artists on Tour” program for the 2023-24 school year. Artsbridge has presented two tours earlier in the school year, Doug Berky — “No Show” for grades 5-6, American Pops Orchestra –S “The Three Little Pigs” for grades 3-4 and this final show will be for grades K-2. Artsbridge is thrilled to bring such quality entertainment to the school students of the Mid-Ohio Valley.”
