Mid-Ohio Valley students hone skills in Mock Speed Interview

MARIETTA — Two students from the region participated in the first Mock Speed Interview on Feb. 15 at Marietta College.

Among the 11 participants were Mackenzie Harshbarger of Pullman and Liz Roderick of New Matamoras, both in the class of 2025.

The Mock Speed Interview helps students improve their interview skills before entering the job market. The event was held in The Gathering Place where each student had five minutes to engage with 10 interviewers who provided real-time feedback.

“The primary aim was to provide students the opportunity to refine their interviewing skills,” Jacqueline Khorassani, senior director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Career Development, said. “Once the students completed their responses, the interviewers provided real-time feedback to help prepare them for future job interviews.”

Interviewers were faculty and staff from Marietta College and board members and mentors from the Center for Entrepreneurship and Career Development CECD, providing the students with a diverse panel of professionals to practice their interview skills.

Starting at $2.99/week.
