Joella Collins benefit dinner set for Dec. 2
A spaghetti dinner benefit for Joella Collins will be held from 11-4 p.m. Dec. 2 at the Mineral Wells Baptist Church, 1569 Elizabeth Pike.
Collins is fighting her third round of cancer. She was diagnosed with her first round of breast cancer in 2010 that lasted until 2015 and was diagnosed again in June, this time it is triple positive.
She underwent surgery in August and started her chemo in October, which will last a year, and at the end of her chemo she will have to have a (PET) scan, positron emission tomography, to determine if further treatments are required.
Dinner is a minimum $10 donation per meal. Additional donations in her name can be made at the three locations of West Virginia Central Credit Union in Parkersburg.
The event will include 50/50 tickets, raffle items and an auction at 3 p.m. and all proceeds of the event will help with medical bills. Collins is getting her treatment and doctors in Parkersburg and Ohio.
