Letter to the Editor: Cooperation is the key

This letter is in response to the letter titled “Can I trust the police?” in the Sunday, March 15, newspaper.

The author wrote she watched on TV as armed men broke into homes without judicial warrants, marched half-naked citizens down the streets to detention centers across the country and in general behaved like thugs.

In what city and state did this happen? The author didn’t elaborate. If it was on CNN, MSNow or other fake news networks, it likely didn’t happen as they reported.

I’ve seen on TV how ICE and CBP were attempting to arrest violent criminal aliens while being pelted and violently assaulted by out-of-control mobs, whom the fake news refers to as “peaceful” protesters, acting like total thugs.

ICE and CBP are sworn to arrest and deport illegal aliens, especially the violent ones. Thus, they are performing their duty, not lawbreaking. The violent mobs, who are obstructing these officers from performing their duties, are the lawbreakers.

I also hear how ICE and CBP are executing innocent citizens in the street. Who are these innocent citizens? If they are referring to Renee Good and Alex Pretti, they were not exactly innocent. Both were illegally obstructing ICE agents.

Renee Good was shot after injuring one ICE agent and attempting to run down other ICE agents with her Honda SUV.

Alex Pretti was shot while violently interacting with ICE agents. His shooting is still under investigation, so I’ll not comment further, except to say if Renee Good and Alex Pretti had been minding their own business, both would be alive today.

Pity the poor ICE agents being forced to wear masks to prevent their names from being doxxed, putting them and their families in danger from “peaceful” protesters, who are acting like thugs.

All city, county and state police agencies should cooperate with ICE and CBP agents to ensure these agents perform their duties as peacefully as possible, without injuries to ICE or CBP agents or to protesters acting like thugs. That includes in West Virginia.

In “red” states, deportations generally occur peacefully, due to cooperation from local police. In deep “blue” states, like Minnesota, Illinois, etc., it is where the local police refuse to cooperate with ICE and CBP that the violence occurs.

Finally, I would strongly recommend the author teach her children running from law officers when ordered to halt is illegal. It’s called “fleeing and eluding.”
