PARKERSBURG — Wood County Schools will begin registration for their 2023-2024 Pre-K and Kindergarten classes in February.

Registration for Pre-K classes will begin Tuesday, Feb. 7, and run until Friday, Feb. 10. The classes are free-of-charge and students must have turned 4 years old on or before July 1, 2022, to enroll.

Parents may register students at any of the following schools:

* Blennerhassett Elementary: 448 Jewell Road, Parkersburg, WV 26101

* Criss: 2800 22nd St., Parkersburg, WV 26101

* Emerson: 1605 36th St., Parkersburg, WV 26101 (no program onsite)

* Fairplains: 615 Broad St., Parkersburg, WV 26101

* Franklin: 1511 Division St., Parkersburg, WV 26101

* Gihon: 2000 Belmont Road, Parkersburg, WV 26101

* Greenmont: 209 58th St., Vienna, WV 26105

* Jefferson: 1103 Plum St., Parkersburg, WV 26101

* Kanawha: 6465 Staunton Pike, Davisville, WV 26142

* Lubeck: 206 Lubeck Road, Parkersburg, WV 26101

* Madison: 1426 32nd St., Parkersburg, WV 26101

* Martin: 1301 Hillcrest St., Parkersburg, WV 26101

* Mineral Wells: 1776 Elizabeth Pike, Mineral Wells, WV 26150

* Neale: 2305 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, WV 26105

* Vienna: 700 41st St., Vienna, WV 26105

* Williamstown Elementary: 418 Williams Ave., Williamstown, WV 26187

Registration will take place at the above schools, but additional Wood County Schools’ collaborative Pre-K sites are as follows:

* A Little People Place: 728 1/2 29 th St., Parkersburg, WV 26101 (Madison – over-sight school)

* Joyful Sound: 505 19th St., Parkersburg, WV 26101 (Emerson – over-sight school)

* Precious Angels: 14 Highland Ave., Parkersburg, WV 26101 (Criss – over-sight school)

To register, parents should bring the child’s state-certified birth certificate, record of age-appropriate immunizations, proof of a Well-Child Exam, proof of a dental exam and a Social Security card. Pre-K classes are six hours and 15 minutes per day, four days a week and run Monday through Thursday. Placement is on a first-come/first-served basis with priority given to applications with a state-certified birth certificate, current immunizations and those who have siblings already attending the school.

Kindergarten registration for the 2023-2024 year will begin Tuesday, Feb. 21, and run through Friday, Feb. 24. Students must be 4 years old before July 1, 2023, to enroll. Parents should report to any of the following schools to register children:
