PARKERSBURG — A student from Parkersburg South High School is among three high school basketball players from West Virginia to be nominated for the 45th annual McDonald’s All American Games.

Nominated was Ashton Mooney, who posted 21 points in South’s 91-47 victory over Parkersburg High School in December.

More than 760 boys and girls basketball players from around the nation were nominated for the games, which will be held in March at Wintrust Arena in Chicago.

Also nominated from West Virginia were Isaac McKneely of Poca High School and Ryan Reasbeck of Wheeling Central Catholic High School.

The final team roster of 48 players will be announced later this month

Players were nominated by a coach, athletic director, principal or the McDonald’s All American Games Selection Committee.

“It’s great to celebrate these players who are proudly representing their families, their schools, and all of West Virginia,” said Jim Davis, president of the local association of McDonald’s owner/operators. “The Games have elevated thousands of athletes over four decades, supporting many communities across the country in the process. I look forward to following these players on their journeys, as they go on to accomplish incredible feats both on and off the court.”
