DAVISVILLE — Cam Huffman has joined the West Virginia Polymer Alliance Zone as its new director of external relations.
Huffman is known to many across the Mid-Ohio Valley for his longstanding work in government affairs and economic development.
Huffman also spent nearly 12 years with the Wood County Economic Development Authority, including almost six years as executive director. During his tenure, he worked to advance business recruitment, expansion efforts and regional development initiatives in Wood County and the surrounding area, according to a release from the PAZ.
He previously served in the administration of former Gov. Bob Wise, gaining firsthand experience in state government operations and policy development.
In addition to his public-sector experience, Huffman has represented numerous organizations before the West Virginia Legislature and other branches of state government. His clients have included large Fortune 500 companies, small manufacturers, nonprofits, and colleges navigating legislative and regulatory environments.
“Cam brings a deep understanding of both state government and regional economic development,” said PAZ President Keith Burdette. “His experience across public policy, business advocacy and stakeholder engagement will strengthen PAZ’s efforts to promote manufacturing growth and investment throughout our region.”
Huffman serves as president and CEO of The Burdette Group, a West Virginia-based government relations and strategic advisory firm. In his role with PAZ, he will focus on strengthening relationships with industry leaders, local officials, state policymakers and strategic partners to advance the organization’s mission.
“I appreciate the opportunity to work with Keith and the PAZ leadership team,” Huffman said. “The Polymer Alliance Zone has played a vital role in positioning this region for advanced manufacturing growth. I look forward to supporting that mission by building strong relationships that attract investment and create new job opportunities.”
The Polymer Alliance Zone works to expand manufacturing investment and economic opportunity across Jackson, Mason, Pleasants, Tyler, Cabell, Wayne, Wood, Wetzel, Marshall and Ohio counties by promoting the region’s industrial assets and workforce strengths.
