News and Sentinel Readers’ Choice nominations open Thursday

PARKERSBURG — Before area businesses, organizations and venues can be named the 2025 Readers’ Choice, they must be nominated.
That begins Thursday, as the Parkersburg News and Sentinel once again invites readers to share their go-to destinations for everything from car repair to appetizers at newsandsentinel.com/readerschoice.
Nominations in more than 200 sub-categories will be open from Aug. 14-20. They are grouped under the headings Body and Soul; Entertainment and Travel; Food and Dining; Health and Beauty; Homes and Gardens; Kids and Education; Pets; Services; Shopping; and Vehicles.
Nominations can be entered once per category per hour.
The first round of voting, in which the nominee lists will be pared down to five, starts Oct. 1. The final round of voting to determine a winner and two finalists begins Nov. 5.
Votes will be tabulated by an independent third party, with final results set to be announced Dec. 10.
“The Readers’ Choice is an opportunity for people to recognize the businesses and entities who help make Parkersburg and the Mid-Ohio Valley a special place to live and work,” said Lisa Northcraft, advertising manager for the newspaper. “This is an exciting event that wouldn’t be possible without the support and participation of our readers.”
