PARKERSBURG — My Way Lounge and Restaurant at 501 Juliana Street in Parkersburg is being repaired after an accident in December, where a truck drove through the building.
Meghan Evans, the owner, said it’s taken awhile to start the repairs between filing through insurance and the inclement weather.
“We have a lot of accidents right here at this intersection,” she said.
Evans said there were 10 accidents in front of the building last year, and four of the accidents ended up with a vehicle hitting the building.
One of the construction workers, Steve Bunner, said the restaurant has had 22 accidents in front of it in the past two years.
Evans said she watched the lights during the accident in December, and she witnessed the light on Juliana Street turning green as the Fifth Street light turned yellow.
“So they need to fix that,” she said.
She said she has brought it up to the city, but that intersection belongs to the West Virginia Division of Highways.
