PARKERSBURG — An Ohio-based pizzaria will open its second shop in West Virginia in Parkersburg.
Rapid Fired Pizza from Kettering will open the new store at 3916 Murdoch Ave. in late summer.
“We look forward to the grand opening of Rapid Fired Pizza in the Parkersburg area,” owner-operator Tyler Dunham said. “Customers will love all the topping and sauce choices that Rapid Fired Pizza has to offer, in addition to salads, calzones and the amazing dessert pizzas.”
Rapid Fired has nearly 40 pizza shops, some in development, in Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas and West Virginia. The other restaurant in West Virginia is in Huntington.
The company was impressed with the success of the store in Huntington, according to Kelly Gray, vice president and director of real estate, for Rapid Fired.

“We were excited at the response we received in Huntington and a great opportunity came up in a new plaza in Parkersburg, plus we had a franchisee interested in the area,” she said. “Parkersburg has great demographics, so the combination of great demos and an available location on Route 14 cinched the deal.”
The location in Parkersburg is in the recently constructed building at 3916 Murdoch Ave. The restaurant will more than 2,300 square feet and will seat more than 45 people, creating about 35 jobs.
Pizzas are cooked in 180 seconds, the company said.
The menu includes individual-sized pizzas and 14-inch family-size pizzas made-to-order and cooked right in front of the customer, the company said. Rapid Fire features eight sauces, eight cheeses, more than 30 toppings and 14 dipping sauces.
Craft pizzas, pasta, calzones, salads, breadsticks and desserts also are available in addition to the gluten free, low-carb No Doh Pizza that allows customers to cut the carbs and keep the flavor by swapping thin or pan crust with fresh spinach leaf or grated parmesan cheese. Carbs are reduced by up to 98 percent and a minimum of 350 calories are saved, the company said.

Delivery is available through DoorDash and GrubHub at Rapid Fired locations based on third party availability.
Rapid Fired started in Kettering by founders who combined have more than 100 years of experience in franchising. Ray Wiley, the lead co-founder, also is a co-founder of Hot Head Burritos and a franchisee of Subway.
