Grimes has bond hearing in Marietta

MARIETTA - A bond hearing for Baxter Grimes was initially moved from Marietta Municipal Court to the Washington County Common Pleas Court. Grimes was initially arrested as a suspect in a home invasion in which two elderly residents were shot. Both victims were taken to a local hospital, stabilized, and then transferred to a hospital in Columbus. One victim later died from the gunshot wounds. Lawsuit: Wrong leg amputated at Selby

MARIETTA – A Meigs County woman and her husband have filed a medical negligence lawsuit saying a surgical team at Selby General Hospital amputated the wrong leg during a procedure last year. Sharon S. Jacks and Dannie W. Jacks filed the complaint Sept. 15 in Washington County Common Pleas Court. Sharon Jacks was scheduled to have her right leg amputated Sept. 19, 2025, according to a news release from the couple’s attorneys.
