Body found in Mineral Wells sent for autopsy
MINERAL WELLS — A body found in a burning car early this morning has been sent to Charleston for an autopsy and identification.
The body of an unidentified individual was found this morning after the Mineral Wells Volunteer Fire Department and Wood County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the fire on Badgley Fork Road, reported around 3 a.m. to the Wood County 911 Center, a supervisor there said. The sheriff’s department, Wood County Fire Investigation Team and West Virginia Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating the incident.
Assistant Wood County Prosecutor Pat Lefebure said it could not be determined at the scene whether the deceased individual was male or female, nor what might have caused the death.
