Jean Taylor Brown

Jean Taylor Brown, 75, of Parkersburg, WV died Monday August 21, 2017 at her residence. She was born in Parkersburg, WV a daughter of the late John and Dorothy (Taylor) Guinn.

Jean was a Registered nurse and had worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Camden Clark. She volunteered for Housecalls Hospice and the Good Samaritan Clinic. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church where she was very active in Missions. She was a member of Betta Sigma Phi Sorority and P.E.O Sisterhood. She was a member of the Ski Patrol at both Canaan Valley and Timberline Resort for many years. She loved riding and showing horses.

She is survived by her son John David Brown (Charity Poske) of Parkersburg; two daughters Rebecca Gural (Justin) of Essex Junction, VT and Tracy Brown of Parkersburg; grandchildren Derek Brown, Johnna Thuney, Morgan Shelton, Rand Gravely, Chandler Gravely, Georgia Brown, Cooper Gural, David John Brown, Mylee Brown, Wyatt Gural and Jack Brown; and great grandchildren Colby Cox, Casey Cox, Lincoln Thuney and Jackson Brown.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband David H. Brown on February 20th of this year, daughter Kristi Gravely, brother Richard Guinn, and sister Joanne Leach.

Services will be Saturday 1:00 P.M. at Christ United Methodist Church with Reverend Jonathan Nettles, Dr. Thomas McDowell, and Randolph Gravely officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Friday 5-8 P.M. at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg and Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.
