Gary Edward Hupp, 74, of Parkersburg, passed away June 20, 2017 at Camden Clark Medical Center.
He was born in Parkersburg, August 31, 1942, son of the late Charles Ezekiel and Georgia Eva Atkinson Hupp.
Gary had proudly served his country in the US Army. He retired from Kardex where he had been employed for twenty-seven years through the Steel Workers Union Local. Gary was an avid sports fan and accomplishes athlete, having played football and baseball in high school. He had served as a coach for youth baseball for several years and enjoyed a good game of golf.
Surviving Gary are his three children Tammy Cross (Michael) of Culpeper, VA, Brian Hupp, Tina Powell (Steve) all of Cutler, six grandchildren Ryan Cross, Sarah Cross, Emily Cross all of Culpeper, VA, Adam Cross of Parkersburg, Kariah Powell, Hunter Powell, both of Cutler, sister Janet Barnes, brother Mike Hupp, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of fifty-three years Barbara Cheryl Heskett Hupp in 2016.
A memorial gathering will be held 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the Leavitt Family Center in Parkersburg with Pastor George Boals officiating and military rites by American Legion Post #15. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. till the time of the service on Sunday.
