Danny L. Platt

Danny Laroy Platt, 73, of Parkersburg, passed away May 1, 2017, after an extended illness at his residence surrounded by loved ones.

He was born Sept. 26, 1943, in Burley, Idaho, son of the late Parley P. Platt Sr. and Evelyn May Osbourne Platt.

He was retired from the U.S. Army after more than 21 1/2 years of service. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, golfing, spending time in the outdoors and spending time with family. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He is survived by his wife of 43 1/2 years, Linda Carder Platt; a daughter, Sherry (Matt); two sons, Danny (Crystal) and TJ (Karen); a sister, Judy (Jon); two brothers, John (Carol) and David (Ruth Ann); stepmother, Alice; several half-siblings; 10 grandchildren; and two fur babies, Ruby and Lady.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Parley Jr.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Amedisys Hospice for their service and care. In lieu of flowers, cards and condolences may be sent to P.O. Box 191, Davisville, WV 26142.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date at the convenience of the family. Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 400 Green St., Parkersburg, is assisting the family with arrangements.

It was Danny's wish that his body be donated to the WVU Human Gift Registry.
