Danny "Cowboy" Smith 72, of Elizabeth, W.Va, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Wednesday, March 22, 2017.
Danny was the son of the Late H. Ronald and Clorice Virginia (Houchen) Smith;
Served in the United States National Guard was a Member of Burning Springs Lodge # 132 AF & AM;
Worked for several years at Visco FMC of Parkersburg; The construction of Willow Island Powerplant and for Carl Smith, until he retired. Danny enjoyed being outside, hunting, old cars and square dancing. But most of all he enjoyed being with his family.
He is Survived by his wife of 51 years Darlene Lowther Smith; Daughter Connie ( Galen) Copen; Grandchildren: Ty Starkey (Rodney) Parkersburg, W.Va., Trace Copen, Izabella Copen, Dayton Copen and Travis Copen of Elizabeth, W.Va.; Great Grandchild: Shyanne Starkey of Parkersburg; one sister Ronda Snyder (Rodney) of Parkersburg, W.Va.; Several nieces and nephews.
In addition to both his parents he was preceded in death by one sister Delores Shears and one infant brother Charles Smith.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Matheny Whited Funeral Home of Elizabeth, W.Va. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017 and Sunday from noon until time of service. Military Graveside services and Masonic Rites Services will be held at Foutty Cemetery of Elizabeth
