Michael C. Null

Michael Clark Null, 64, of Elizabeth, W.Va., passed away peacefully in his home on Nov. 27, 2016, following a battle with cancer.

Mike was a 1970 graduate of Wirt County High School; earned an Associate Degree from Parkersburg Community College and a Bachelor's Degree from Glenville State College, where he studied accounting and business. He spent most of his career as an entrepreneur, owning a lumber company and a pallet shop.  He also was a part-time mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and he retired from DuPont – Washington Works in 2007.

Mike enjoyed woodworking, hunting and spending time around a fire pit with his family and friends. He was a member of Wirt VFW Post 6608.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Thomas Null; son, Michael Alden Null (Katrina) of Parkersburg; daughters, Dr. Monica Ann Beane (Sterling) of Salem, Ore., and Michele Anne Butcher (Scott McElfresh) of Elizabeth; two stepdaughters, Tiffany and Kristy Freed; six grandchildren, Devin Butcher, Price Beane, Danielle Butcher, Jeremy Lusk, Jared Lusk and Zaiden Borror; and two great grandchildren, Riley Coplin and Noah Lusk.

In addition, he is survived by his brother, Darrell Null (Rhonda); and two sisters, Sandra Null Wright (Wayne) and Carolyn Foggin.

He was preceded in death by his father, Orvel Lee Null; and mother ,Thelma Valentine Null.

Memorial services will be 4p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016, at Matheny Whited Funeral Home of Elizabeth, with the Rev. Leary Vanhorn officiating. A time of Gathering will be Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016, from 4-8 p.m. and Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and 2-4 p.m. Interment will be held privately by the family at a later date.
