Tractor-trailer rigs burn at R&J Trucking
The Warren Township Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire early Friday morning at R&J Trucking on Ohio 7 south of Marietta. Fire Chief Mark Wile said the fire started in a tractor-trailer rig and spread to two adjacent rigs. Employees moved other trucks away from the fire to keep it from spreading, he said. The truck where the fire started had a load of magnesium in its trailer, which did not ignite before Warren firefighters, with the assistance of the Dunham Township Volunteer Fire Department, were able to extinguish the flames. “If it catches fire, you can’t put it out with water,” Wile said.
