PARKERSBURG -- Passengers are expected to be able to begin booking flights to and from the Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Airport and American Airlines destinations online on a single ticket around Nov. 1.
An interline agreement was reached earlier this year between American and Contour Airlines, which provides services between the local airport and Charlotte Douglas International Airport, an American hub. It was announced at a recent Wood County Airport Authority meeting that single-ticket online booking would begin this month, but John Inniger, manager of marketing and distribution for Contour, clarified that while the system would be "live" soon, due to processing time needed, Nov. 1 is likely when people will be able to start booking flights on travel sites like Expedia.
The interline agreement means passengers will not have to book one flight to or from the Mid-Ohio Valley airport and another flight between Charlotte and their ultimate starting point or destination. Bags will not have to be rechecked, and passengers will not have to go through security again for a connecting flight.
