Two Camden Clark Medical Center nurses receive leadership award

PARKERSBURG -- Two nurses from WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center will receive the Emerging Nurse Leader Award by the West Virginia Future of Nursing Action Coalition as part of its 40 under 40 leadership campaign.
Lenee Hartleben and Jessica Huffman are among 40 nurses being honored with the award that will be presented at the annual recognition gala on Sept. 28 at the Embassy Suites in Charleston.
Huffman is the director of acute care at Camden. She is a Doctor of Nursing Practice student at Xavier University studying population health leadership.
She also is an adjunct professor of nursing at Xavier University.
"It is an absolute honor to be named to the 40 under 40 emerging nurse leaders list," Huffman said. "I am proud to be a nursing leader at WVU Medicine and I plan to continue actively serving my community through opportunities afforded to me by winning this award."
She resides in Belpre with her husband Tony and their five children.
Hartleben is a house supervisor at Camden Clark. She is a master's of science in nursing student at Walden University studying to be an adult gerontologic acute care nurse practitioner specializing in critical care.
She is involved in many committees and healthcare process improvement initiatives at WVU Medicine. Hartleben also is a project facilitator for BSN students at WVU Parkersburg.
"I am incredibly honored and humbled to be named as a 40 Under 40 emerging nurse leader for West Virginia," Hartleben said. "I have the privilege of leading my fellow nurses at WVU Medicine. I am thankful for my nursing mentors for sharing their experience and guidance that has shaped me into the leader I have become. My future plan is to continue serving my community and peers through a combined role involving clinical practice and leadership. "
Hartleben resides in Parkersburg with her husband Andy and their two sons.
Awardees are the shining stars of the next generation of nursing leaders, Aila Accad, MSN, RN, executive director of Future of Nursing WV, said.
"We are proud to recognize their accomplishments and mentor them as they continue on their leadership journey to improve the culture of health in West Virginia."
The Future of Nursing WV Action Coalition is non-profit group strengthening and expanding nursing practice, education and leadership.
