Vienna traffic stop leads to arrests
VIENNA — The Vienna Police Department arrested two people late Sunday night.
About 11:50 p.m. Sunday, Vienna Police reported conducting a traffic stop on a Cadillac sedan near 60th Street in Vienna for a traffic violation observed on Grand Central Avenue.
The driver was identified as Amanda Wigal, 30, of Parkersburg, and the passenger was identified as Paul Larsen, 56, of Vienna. Investigation into Wigal’s DMV records found that her license was suspended. Larsen was removed from the car and found to be in possession of several bags of suspected heroin and pills, the press release said.
Vienna K-9 Ronin did an exterior sniff of the vehicle and positively indicated on the vehicle. A search revealed further drug paraphernalia that is consistent with the sale and/or distribution of controlled substances.
Wigal was cited for third-offense driving under suspension, a misdemeanor, and faces a possible penalty if convicted of 30-90 days in jail and a fine of $150-$500, according to the press release.
Larsen was arrested and charged with one count of possession with the intent to deliver heroin, a felony. He was booked at the Vienna Police Department and transported to the Wood County Holding Center where he was placed pending his arraignment in Wood County Magistrate Court on Monday.
At the arraignment, Magistrate Robin Waters set a bond of $200,000. Larsen did not post bond and was held in lieu of bond at the North Central Regional Jail. If convicted, Larsen faces a sentence of one to 15 years in prison, a fine up to $25,000, or both.
